Who: Gwen Tennyson and Andrew Lane
When: January 4, 2013.
Where: The local coffee shop.
What: Andrew is new to town and scoping the place out. He runs into Gwen.
Rating: Can't imagine it'll get higher than PG, but I'll update if I'm wrong.

Andrew had been very careful upon his arrival in town. He'd found a room at a quiet motel, and then he'd gone and driven a circuit through Duskwood's streets. Architecturally it was lovely enough, not unlike his memories of early childhood in the northeast, and there seemed to be all sorts of people about. He'd had time to work out the bugs in his speech - to recall American slang, to remember how Boston boys pronounced their ahhhhs, long and nasal and distinctive. The trip down from the old homestead in search of family had been good practice, and now that he was in Supernatural Central, he felt absolutely confident that he could fake being semi-local.

Thank the lord for television. Jon Stewart was the source for all things American pop-culture, as far as Andrew was concerned.

After he'd seen the town, he'd circled back around to a coffee shop and parked his car. Then it was a matter of trotting up the steps, in the door, and buying some kind of drink to nurse until he could find a natural way to ease into conversation with a stranger.

"Andrew?" The barista called. "Your cappuccino is ready."

She smiled at him again. "I'm slightly new to town myself," she admitted. She'd noticed his accent, but it wasn't uncommon to see people with Boston accents considering the town wasn't too terribly far. Plenty of Duskwood residents commuted to the bigger city for jobs and things like that. Her own accent was much less common place but that didn't matter so much. "Haven't been here even a year yet," she admitted. It still felt brand new to her sometimes.

"Do you have anything in particular that you're looking for as far as work goes?" she asked him. She didn't know much about the town, but maybe she could think of some place that was hiring in the field he hoped to go into. It couldn't hurt to help the man a little if she could.
