Patience Hurst: Tea and Gossip
Subject:Gossip
Who: Patience Hurst
Where: The Hurst’s London home.
Warnings: None
Open to: Olivia Blake

Patience was ever so excited. She had spent a great deal of the morning arranging flowers – pretty and seasonal – in a vase on the ornate parlour table while around her the servants dusted and prepared what she had instructed for dinner.

It wasn’t often that Olivia arrived in London and Patience was determined to make the most of the afternoon, and to none to subtly show the other young girl how refined she was becoming with all the attention she received from gentlemen. Soon Patience would be married , although she had not yet picked which suitor she would deem to say yes to, and perhaps her good fortune would affect her dear friends. She would hate to keep the company of old maids.

Patience watched through the window, peeking through the gap in the curtains as the footman opened the door, greeting Olivia. She wouldn't be informal enough to greet her friends herself, or so low-class. Instead she settled in the window seat, pretending she had been engrossed in some needle-point as Olivia was shown into the room.

She looked up at her friend with a radiant smile, but did not rise straight away. "Olivia, how well you look!" She commented, setting her needle point aside and standing to greet her friend.

Olivia gave Patience a bright smile in return as she crossed the room to greet her. "And you, dear Patience, have grown even more lovely, if that's possible," she gushed.

Olivia was hardly able to wait until they were settled and the servants dismissed so they were alone. She wanted to ask so many questions and she was sure that Patience had a good deal of society news to share. "How wonderful it is to finally see you again," Olivia said, "I have missed you so."
