Nell had expected everything would change if Harry ever told him he loved him. That somehow he would be different and the world might suddenly be more colourful and bright. He’d wondered if Harry might refuse him working, but there’d been no talk on it and Nell felt, even if he had asked, he wouldn’t have wanted to give up the job. He felt a sense of loyalty to his regular clients. They needed him. Why look at Demetri! His lover had died and Nell was his comfort.

Settling on his bed Nell looked towards the door, wondering who he’d be seeing tonight. Antoine had promised to visit soon and Nell had planned a hero’s welcome for him. The Ambassador had also given his word to visit as soon as possible, and then there was dear Demetri. Or maybe there would be a new man, a new client with his own reasons and secrets for visiting Nell.

	Demetri smiled at him and kissed him softly. "I am glad of that too." He looked away for a moment before looking back at Nell. "Perhaps though it should wait. Harry... he wasn't too happy with me at Lord Hurst's. And I don't wish to cause any further trouble for either of you." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Nell sat up, running a hand through his hair and trying to ignore the twinge of pain that sparked at the movement. "Lord Hurst's party was a long time ago. I'm sure...I know Harry doesn't feel any ill will towards you. He was only worried." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Demetri moved up to his arms slowly and looked at Nell. "I would speak with him at a later time then, smooth over any troubles or ill will he might still have," Demetri said.

Perhaps they could do something special. He sat up more and leaned in toward Nell and smiled. "And I understand why he'd be worried too. I'm not proud of my actions or my response, but I would do it again, in a heartbeat."

Demetri smiled. He had been so upset after finding Nell, so worried, that he hadn't even though about Nell thinking that of him. "You think that, really?" He reached up and put his hand over Nell's. "I didn't even think; he makes me react like that, I hate him so much." Demetri closed his eyes slowly for a moment. He didn't want to think about Petrov, not when he was with Nell. He didn't want to ruin their time together. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't mention him, don't want to ruin our mood."

	"You didn't ruin anything" Nell promised. Hearing Petrov's name, talking about him, didn't upset him any more and Demetri hadn't asked him to tell him exactly what had happened and hopefully never would. "And yes, I did think so. You were very courageous." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Demetri nodded and kept stroking Nell's hair. "I'm not sure I would have cared as long as I kept him from hurting you more." He sighed but he smiled at Nell. "You flatter me with such compliments, but thank you for them. They do make me happy to hear." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Demetri smiled, not sure what to say. "Thank you Nell. That means a great deal." He pulled Nell into a further hug as he sat up the rest of the way. He pushed his own hair out of his face and gently rubbed Nell's back. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Pausing for just a moment Demetri looked down at Nell, and he couldn't help but smile back. "I'm afraid it's a terrible character flaw, me worrying so. But I will try. And as long as your in my company, I'll make sure nothing harms you either, and I dare say Harry looks after you something fierce as well." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
