Thérèse took the glass gratefully, taking a sip and watching him. Poor Christopher. It did sound like a difficult task. "If you ever need any help, please, do not hesitate to ask. You've been so hospitable. Anything I can do." She smiled again, wider, before setting her glass down and continuing her needlework.
"Oh, it's, uh... it's an embroidery. I began it some time ago then lost all motivation to continue. Tonight, however, it seems to have returned and I'm determined to finish." She sighed, holding it up a little. "It could be better, but needlework was never my strong point. However, it is something to keep myself distracted." She pushed her hair back a little, looking back up at him. "Surely... surely you've other friends? Besides Charlot? Do you never going into London? I don't mean to sound offensive, but... a man such as you... I would've thought you've a busy social life. Perhaps a lady friend."
