It seemed to Jeanne that tea poured from fountains, but to get a good cup on coffee here in England one would have to be royalty. Drudging thru another muddy cup of disgusting English coffee, she sighed before placing the china cup back upon the wooden table. The cup was decorated with little yellow flowers around the brim, and just as she was thinking of how pretty this was and waiter came and carried it away.
Leaning back in her chair ever so slightly, she gazed thru her book of poetry by the English writer, Samuel Buter- whose poems she had yet to read. She had little interest in reading on this day, as the weather outside the cafe window displayed sunshine so bright it could blind the angels. The ultimate cheer of those around her was almost nausiating, but only in the most spectacular of ways.
Closing the book without having read a single word, she stood, her red dress falling in a canopy around her. Placing her payment upon the table, she waved a pleasent goodbye to those of the restaurant and exited the shop without a word. The street was outside was busy with the smells of candy and sweat, and much to her delight there seemed to be many more people to talk to.
"Hello," she said, poking the first person she saw, a trustable man in uniform, in the arm and offering him a polite smile, "How are you? I see you're alone and so am I, care to join me for a summer's walk?"
