After watching her ascend the stairs, Daniel told Yvette he was leaving and hastily made his way to his father's house. He was not as late as he thought and as a result his father was not too hard on him for his time keeping.
However as the hours passed, Daniel realised that he was being kept for a very long time. Though they were talking of things he found important he could not help but think of the woman he had left at home, probably wondering where he was. As the hour approached eleven Daniel had to excuse himself and he made his weary way back to his abode.
The whole house was quiet; Yvette was in bed but she had left a candle burning so he could guide himself to his bedroom. He regretted that his father had taken so much of his time when Daphne was at his house for the first time in months. Her bedroom door was closed and, disappointed, he went to his own chambers and quickly sent himself to bed.
