Katherine had once again been abandoned at the door by Miles, off to make conversation with his various female companions, and she hoped for her own sake that he'd choose one soon so there wouldn't be so many for her to keep track of. She always enjoyed visiting Lady Gwendolyn's salon, mostly because her fiance almost never did, and it offered her the chance to be perfectly opinionated without much consequence; that was, after all, the goal.
As she entered the salon, Katherine allowed her eyes to wander and see who else had arrived. Various familiar faces did not hold her attention, not until she saw in the center of the room Eward Mountford-Miles, and the sight of him made her face go absolutely white. She had not seen him in the few days since...well, since she'd last seen him, and admittedly it was a purposeful avoidance. Perhaps she'd find luck and not be forced to discuss what had happened that night to his face.
Smiling at the hostess when she greeted her, Katherine replied, "It is always a pleasure, Lady Gwendolyn. Thank you kindly for having me."
