Draco trembled uncontrollably in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, a piece of parchment in hand as he glanced at his flushed reflection within the mirror. That was his quiet place within Hogwarts. The one place he often found himself when under extreme amounts of pressure. The one place where he would openly break down and not have to be too concerned over any sort of audience as the only other person who had ever found him in such a vulnerable, honest position had been Hermione Granger, his now official yet not so official girlfriend much like Pansy Parkinson had been for the prior six years of his education. Of course, the only people that had any idea as to Hermione and Draco's uncharacteristic official yet not so official relationship was Pansy Parkinson, Ron Weasley and a small selective other few. Many had assumptions especially when seeing the two together on occasion but most just figured that Draco had ulterior motives, of course he didn't but behind Hermione's back he continued to maintain his image as well as he could without allowing too much attention to be placed on what they were in fact involved in together and what they weren't.
Bringing his hands out to steady himself against one of the sinks, the parchment within his grasp crumbled causing him to become startled momentarily. He really was on the verge of losing his mind, something that he had came to terms with each and every day. Lord Voldemort was a fear greater than anything else Draco personally had ever had to endure and the equal fear that boiled inside of him, his own father. Draco was too afraid to cross either one of them on the wrong terms yet he continued to take extreme risks in the sense of a female, a female that he had grown quite fond of even beyond all of the negatives of being a typical, well-bred pureblood.
"What am I going to do?" He choked out into stale air of the abandoned bathroom to himself as he brought the parchment up to his gaze for what seemed like the thousandth time.
Your family is within my grasp Malfoy, you have kept me waiting long enough and each moment I've grown more and more impatient amongst your failure to execute. The deadline of my tolerance has been overdue and you are to fulfill your duties towards me tonight or you along with your parents will be dead by dawn
Lord Voldemort
The parchment was hexed against other eyes to look completely blank, otherwise Draco might have took Hermione's advice and went to the Order of the Phoenix, not that he held much trust in their abilities to keep his family as well as himself safe and alive. He had spoke to Professor Snape about his troubles for months now, the one wizard he looked up to and trusted more than his own parents, more than his own mates and the one wizard that had the ability to help him, even when he could have said no. Draco had no idea how the evening would truly play out but he couldn't risk ignoring or avoiding the dark lord any longer, it was time to do what had been demanded of him, even if his own fear and hesitance was stronger than his courage and self-confidence.
Draco exited the bathroom quietly and crept along the corridors and staircases amongst the shadows, he couldn't afford to be caught out roaming after curfew, especially now that he was no longer a prefect. He managed to remain unnoticed all the way to Professor Snape's sleeping quarter where he opened the door quietly and made his way inside, taking note that Professor Snape had already been ready and waiting for him.
"He's got mother and father, we have to do it tonight or else I'm dead as are they." Draco stated unenthusiastically, his horror of the entire situation frozen upon his drooped features. The truth was, he was rather dumbfounded. He had never killed anyone before, he especially had never went up against a wizard like Dumbledore who could no doubt, kill him within a second. He was in far too deep and he didn't want it to be this way, he was definitely not a murderer, but for tonight, he would have to be if he ever wanted to live to see the very next day.
