❖05; in my head, i see you all over me...

Three months.

She'd been living in Virginia for over three months by now and all she had unpacked in her apartment were some of her clothes, her bedding, towels, toiletries, and things for her cats. Anyone who walked into her apartment would think that she'd only been there for a week. Anna couldn't help but think that her mama would have a heart attack if she'd seen the way her oldest daughter had been living.

Normally, Anna would've had her apartment door locked, bolted, and chained but since she was in the process of getting settled, she left it unlocked in case she needed to fetch something. On her rare night off from work, she decided to accomplish unpacking with the help of a little musical inspiration.

Her little private dance parties were inspired by Adam and all his adorkable antics in the lab, and since Anna couldn't find any of her normal music, she had to throw in a mix from her sister Eva -- who constantly mocked Anna's apparent lack of "real music".

And that would explain the reason that the small brunette FBI agent was dancing around in an old pair of soccer shorts and a tank top, singing along to a song by an artist named Fefe Dobson that had interesting lyrics and a catchy beat while trying to unpack her dishes.

"... it's you and me against the world. That's what you said, that's what you said. If you can't be honest with me, then I'm afraid this is the end. Hurry up, hurry up. If you ever really cared about me, tell the truth, give it up. You sound guilty 'cause you're stuttering ..."

❖01; i'm leaving, never to come back again

They never saw it coming.

As far as they knew? Everything was okay. But one morning, her desk was empty, save for a letter explaining that Anna had taken a job with the FBI in DC, effective immediately.

Mac,

I'm sorry to say goodbye this way, but it's for the best. We all know that things haven't been the same since Jess was killed and I was shot. I can't continue to do my job when all I see is my dead partner at every turn. I need a new city, a new job, a new team.

Thank you for all you've done. I promise to make you proud, please wish me luck.

I love you all, and I'll miss you terribly.

--Anna

Turning off her phone, Anna rubbed her arms and stepped off of the elevator with a sigh. It was late, she knew that, but her orders were to report in as soon as she'd arrived in DC. Approaching the office at the end of the hall, she rapped lightly on the door and stepped inside, letting the door close quietly behind her.

"Agent Hotchner? Chief Strauss told me to report to you immediately."
