❖04; life is a mystery

It'd been less than a week since the departure of his best friend, and for the most part Adam was fine. Anna called every other day when she was able, and he promised not to get too down about her leaving. And that would explain the reason that the small brunette FBI agent was dancing around in an old pair of soccer shorts and a tank top, singing along to a song by an artist named Fefe Dobson that had interesting lyrics and a catchy beat while trying to unpack her dishes.

"... it's you and me against the world. That's what you said, that's what you said. If you can't be honest with me, then I'm afraid this is the end. Hurry up, hurry up. If you ever really cared about me, tell the truth, give it up. You sound guilty 'cause you're stuttering ..."
