WHO: Helen Cho and Pamela Isley
WHEN:226410.22
WHERE: Lounge
SUMMARY: TBD but the prompt was WINE
WARNINGS: TBD

Pamela enjoyed a good drink, now and again, and the stuff that came out of the replicator was in a word terrible. She actually wasn't too fond of the lounge, preferring instead the company of plants. They might be the ship's plants, but she had quickly come to think of them as her plants. Her children. Or as close to children as she could get without genetic manipulation.

Something told her Starfleet would frown upon such a thing, but that might not necessarily stop her.

She sat near a lonely frond on one side of the lounge, stroking the leaves as she sipped her wine.

Helen had come off ship in the Medbay which hadn't been fairly uneventful. She had quickly come to the conclusion it would either be flat our or fairly quiet, rarely something in the middle. Still with the arrivals, it kept things busier than it might have been otherwise. Being able to work with such advanced technology was amazing and Bones gave her a lot of freedom to work on her own projects when she wasn't needed as a Doctor which was great.

The entire staff of the Medbay were lovely though, for which she was grateful for. She missed her team from home but she wasn't going to complain about the people she had to work with here.

Wondering through the lounge, Helen spotted someone who looked vaguely familiar from the Network though she couldn't quite place who they were. She lingered for a moment trying to decide whether to approach them or not. The room was leaning towards empty but it wasn't completely so, the others being a couple of other groups. Would it be awkward to sit alone or would it be best to approach her? Finally, she decided to approach her.

"Hi, do you mind if I join you? I think I recognise you but I can't actually remember your name. Sorry, I ramble. I'm Helen Cho," she rambled just a touch to quickly.

"Call me Ivy," Pamela said, eyeing Helen up and down as if appraising her. Though it might be considered a little rude, she didn't offer a hand. Besides, it was busy with the frond. Harley would not be in for awhile, so she nodded, "Please, have a seat."

She was trying to get along better with people, so this might be a good start. She was stuck here, and she'd learned the hard way that her methods to protect the Green tended to... fail.

"Ivy it is then," she said with a smile, "and thank you," she added as she took a seat not at all bothered by the lack of handshake.

She considered asking if they had spoken on the network previously but thought it was too odd to do so so she just bit her lip for a moment trying to come up with something. Eventually she settled on, "Are you enjoying your time on the Enterprise?" she asked curiously. "I've been fairly busy with my work to get around to meeting a lot of people," she admitted wit ha shrug.

She seemed interesting, and rather adorably fretty. Ivy leaned her chin on her hand, studying her. "Not really. Artificial sunlight and air, while enough to keep me alive, doesn't serve me well beyond that, so I spend most of my time in the botany lab. What work do you do?"

Helen blinked for a moment. She'd come back to that in a moment though she supposed it was true for everyone. It was the way Ivy worded it that caught her up. "I work in the Medbay both as a doctor and doing research - mostly in genetics. You work with plants then?" she asked curiously.

"I'm a botanist and geneticist, specializing in flora," Ivy replied. Her eyes seemed to darken and her skin took on a greener tint. "You could say I'm particularly inseparable from them."

Honestly, she enjoyed doing that and watching people react.

Helen blinked and then blinked again. "Wow, that is... You know actually I think we might have talked about it on the Network," she said frowning for a moment. "That was you? It wouldn't surprise me if there were others with similar abilities though given the range of people onboard this ship," Helen rambled as she tried to remember the conversation.

"None that I've met, though with the variety of alien species I'm sure I'm not alone." She made a mental note to query the Enterprise computer as to if there were any aliens that were similar to her.

It might be nice not to feel so alone.

"It might be worth looking into. I know at home we have such a wide range of abilities though I haven't come across one like yours it might be possible for one to exist," Helen said with a shrug.

"Where did you get the wine by the way? I wouldn't mind a glass myself," Helen asked curiously.

"I asked for it from the bartender," Ivy said, giving Helen a wink. She was more curious about these abilities Helen mentioned.

"That sounds a lot like my world. Supermen and Wonder Women, aliens and gods, magic and science experiments gone wrong."

"Thanks, I might grab one myself in a bit," she said with a smile and a faint blush. Why did she wink? Helen was never good at picking up social clues, though she was better than she was.

"Huh, that actually is similar to ours. We don't have a lot of Superheroes - Captain America, The Hulk, Thor - though Thor is actually an Alien who we used to worship as a God," she explained. "It's curious that both of ours are so similar in that regard."

"I've met Thor." He wasn't bad, actually. A little boistrous and honestly he reminded her of Harley, only less crazy. "I know the Greek gods exist in my world, but I'm pretty sure they're aliens too. But superheros, you can't go five feet without running into one."

She shook her head dismissively.

"He's lovely just very boisterous and out there at times," she admitted with a slight smile. Okay she might like Thor a bit more than other people. It was his arms and smile. It really was. "They do? It wouldn't surprise me if they were aliens, it would make sense especially if they came to Earth when we weren't that advanced."

"Oh wow. I don't think they're that common in my world BUT I work with the main group so I might be slightly biased?"

"That's exactly what happened, only they fashioned themselves gods too." She snorted. She wondered if the Kryptonians or some of the other metahumans of her world would consider themselves gods.

"Your Avengers, I think they're called?"

"Somehow that doesn't surprise me," Helen said with a laugh. "I don't know if they did it on my world or if we just chose to worship them but it's similar enough that I suppose it could go either way," she mused.

"They are. Very different people but they get on and do what they do well thankfully. Keeps my job interesting though. I think I'm going to grab that wine," I'll be back in a second," she said rising.

They reminded her of the Justice League, and they were probably just as righteous and holier than though. Certainly, the League sometimes felt like they considered themselves above everyone. Perhaps, if things had gone differently, the League might have been the real villains.

She nodded, and waited for Helen to return, studying her closely as she moved.

Glass of Rose in hand, Helen returned to where Ivy was waiting for her. Taking a sip as she sat down, she nodded to the other lady. She was enjoying their conversation and it was intriguing just how similar their worlds were though the differences were quite obvious too. "Do you mind telling me more about your superheroes?" she asked curiously.

She'd sensed Ivy's eyes on her as she walked but didn't say anything.

Ivy snorted. "Lets just say I'm usually on the other side. Where should I start? The man in the batsuit? Superman? You might have met a version of him on the Enterprise. There are the Lanterns, the Flash, any number of the Batman's child side-kicks. An endless number, really, defeat one and a smaller one appears. As Harley might call them, Batryoshka dolls."

Helen was slightly surprised by that. "Well you can't be that bad. You're not out destroying the world which I tend to find people who oppose them are," she admitted with a shrug. "Maybe, I haven't been here long and there's a lot of people. Still that sounds like a wide range of people. I wonder why you have so many more than we do though," she mused. She did laugh though at the description of the child side-kicks. "He lets children fight with him?" she asked frowning in concern.

"I couldn't tell you. One day we had a superman, and then men started dressing like animals and then everyone started popping up like woodwork." It had been like an escalation, everyone had just needed the one person to show up and then all the crazy people could come out.

"I suppose these things happens. A part from Captain America, all of ours were close together when they appeared. Even some of the Avengers aren't powered, just highly skilled people," she admitted with a shrug. "I suppose it just has a way of happening. It makes me wonder how many other worlds have superheroes though."

"Many. Some have crossed over with mine on more than one occasion. As if one version of some of those people weren't enough." It was an interesting insight into the way things might turn out if things had been just a little different.

"That must have been a headache and a half," Helen said with a shake of her head. "Did it happen a lot?" Helen was honestly glad that she hadn't encountered the alternative versions of the Avengers back home. That could have been... Interesting to say the least.

"My opposite? I'd kill her on sight." There was no hesitation. Ivy had thought of this before. Her opposite would probably be like a villain on Captain Planet. Someone who harmed the planet, who harmed women and who harmed children.

Such a person would have to die.

Helen was momentarily taken aback by that. Especially by how sure she was about her reaction to meeting an alternative 'evil' version of herself. "That's extreme. I mean I suppose the opposite of you would be someone who didn't care for plants but even then... I can't imagine killing someone."

Helen still wasn't sure exactly what she thought but... "I'm glad," she replied cause it was the only thing she could reply with. Accidental deaths and the fallout she dealt with enough but purposely killing someone? That was different. "I'd hate for anyone to kill for no reason at all."
