Do it for the vine ([info]poison_ivy) wrote in [info]toboldlyrpg,

Entry tags:! enterprise, - deck five lounge, ^ log, helen cho | mcu, pamela isley | dc comics

WHO: Helen Cho and Pamela Isley
WHEN:226410.22
WHERE: Lounge
SUMMARY: TBD but the prompt was WINE
WARNINGS: TBD

Pamela enjoyed a good drink, now and again, and the stuff that came out of the replicator was in a word terrible. She actually wasn't too fond of the lounge, preferring instead the company of plants. They might be the ship's plants, but she had quickly come to think of them as her plants. Her children. Or as close to children as she could get without genetic manipulation.

Something told her Starfleet would frown upon such a thing, but that might not necessarily stop her.

She sat near a lonely frond on one side of the lounge, stroking the leaves as she sipped her wine.

"I suppose these things happens. A part from Captain America, all of ours were close together when they appeared. Even some of the Avengers aren't powered, just highly skilled people," she admitted with a shrug. "I suppose it just has a way of happening. It makes me wonder how many other worlds have superheroes though."

"Many. Some have crossed over with mine on more than one occasion. As if one version of some of those people weren't enough." It was an interesting insight into the way things might turn out if things had been just a little different.

"That must have been a headache and a half," Helen said with a shake of her head. "Did it happen a lot?" Helen was honestly glad that she hadn't encountered the alternative versions of the Avengers back home. That could have been... Interesting to say the least.

"More often than you'd expect. I'm glad I didn't run into it too often myself." Though she thought if there were more than one of her, they could do some good work.

"Oh dear," Helen replied with a shake of her head. "Though I suppose running into yourself would be incredibly awkward. At least I'd find it so."

"It could be worse." Ivy shuddered. "Could you imagine running into your opposite?"

"Like a you who isn't you? Like I don't know a version of me who never went into medicine?" Helen clarified? "That would certainly be uncomfortable and odd. I think you're right in that would be worse."

"Like that. Or one who was evil. Immoral. A scientist or doctor who experimented on people. Could you imagine running into a person who looked and sounded like you, and encompassed all that?"

Helen couldn't help but grimace at that thought. "Yeah, I couldn't do that. It's just wrong on so many levels."

"What would you do?" If faced with that?

Helen bit her lip as she pondered that for a moment. "I don't know. I know I'd like to know why she - I - chose the path that she did but beyond that, I honestly don't know. What about you?" she asked curiously.

"My opposite? I'd kill her on sight." There was no hesitation. Ivy had thought of this before. Her opposite would probably be like a villain on Captain Planet. Someone who harmed the planet, who harmed women and who harmed children.

Such a person would have to die.

Helen was momentarily taken aback by that. Especially by how sure she was about her reaction to meeting an alternative 'evil' version of herself. "That's extreme. I mean I suppose the opposite of you would be someone who didn't care for plants but even then... I can't imagine killing someone."

"Uh..." she replied not sure what exactly to say to that. She supposed the Avengers had killed but that was by accident if anything at all. She hadn't really thought about it before.

“Don’t worry,” Ivy assured her. “Always someone who deserved it.”

At least, to her own mind.

Helen still wasn't sure exactly what she thought but... "I'm glad," she replied cause it was the only thing she could reply with. Accidental deaths and the fallout she dealt with enough but purposely killing someone? That was different. "I'd hate for anyone to kill for no reason at all."

Ivy stood, nodding towards Helen. "I might no longer be human, Doctor. But I'm no monster."

Smiling, Ivy simply walked away.
