Peggy couldn't help but roll her eyes. The differences between their travels together during the war and being in a space ship were many. "I just wouldn't want to see you locked up in the brig," she said from behind her wine glass.

"Mine?" she echoed and then laughed, shaking her head. "As far as I know it, I don't have any kids." That might not have been a question she had directly asked, but she assumed it would have come up seeing as how she'd spent so much time with Phil and even with Tony. But it hadn't ever come up.

She leaned back against the sofa she was sitting on, leaning in a little bit towards Howard. "Have you thought about what you might do here? Will you work in engineering?"

"Neither do I, but that hasn't stopped someone from saying I was a father." Because of course Peggy wouldn't take it easy on him and give him the low down on his apparent future son without making him ask about it.

Of course, there was a chance that she wouldn't know anything about the kid and therefore would have nothing to tell him. But he doubted that. If there was information out there, chances were good that Peggy either had it or knew where to find it. But he let it go for the moment. There was (hopefully) plenty of time for that.

Howard nodded, looking thoughtful. "I think so, but I have a couple hundred years of engineering advancements to catch up on. Not that the basics of it changes very much. A cooling system is a cooling system, no matter the mechanics of it, and that looks like the most maintenance-heavy component at this point. Of course, I'm still learning about warp technology, but with the abundance of material in the ship's database, it shouldn't take long to catch up." Not for him, at least. Plus, if he had any questions about it, he could ask Scotty. That man was a genius and since Howard had never really met anyone who was smarter than he was, that was saying a lot.

He changed the subject then, though, as a thought struck him. "Peg... What year did you come from?" He was a terrible friend for not asking before, but Peg knew him. He knew she'd understand.

"You are," she said casually. "Or at least, you will be. I know, it surprised me too, but it's not a lie or a manipulation or anything. When Steve was here before, he confirmed it." Peggy didn't have a moment to think about how that probably made no sense to him, and she didn't readily offer an explanation. "I like Tony," she continued. "He, well, reminds me of you."

She sipped her wine and smiles at him again. "I'm sure you'll find a lot to do once you catch up. And I'm sure it won't take you long to catch up at all."

Her fingers slipped along her arm and rugged on the ends of her hair, which had grown long in the last several months. "1948," she said. "I was in LA. I imagine we are from similar times, are we not?"

Howard's brows shot up to his hairline. "You've met him?" he asked, looking around the lounge. "Is he here? Obviously he's on the ship if you've met him, but is he here?" Honestly, he wasn't sure if he should be proud or frightened that Peggy thought his future kid followed in his footsteps. Maybe a little of both?

He sat back after a moment, still not quite sure how he was feeling about the whole having a child thing. There were so many questions rattling around in his brain and he wasn't sure he'd ever really have answers for them unless he asked the kid. No, he chastised himself silently. He's got a name and it's Tony. Since he wasn't going to get answers right away, it would be rude to focus entirely on his own issues and ignore Peggy, so he turned to face her, immediately scooting to the front of his seat.

"'48? Have you and Sousa dealt with that sexual tension between you yet?"

"Tony?" Peggy echoed. She nodded. "Yes, I've met him. He's hard to miss." She smiled a little bit and shrugged. "I'm sure it's not something you want to think about, but you can't avoid him forever, Howard." She brushed a hand gently against his arm and then went back for another swallow of her wine.

At the mention of Daniel, she flushed but pushed her face to remain expressionless. "Agent Sousa isn't here," she stated quickly, "so I don't see how your question is even relevant." Which pretty much answered his question without answering it, and her mind wavering back to some of her last moments with Daniel before she ended up here. That blush she couldn't hold back.
