Welcome to the Deck 5 Lounge

Each Saturday, join the Enterprise crew and your fellow travelers in the Deck Five Lounge to meet new arrivals, catch up with those you haven't seen in a few days, try a new drink, or just enjoy the spectacular view.

Peggy didn't always make it to the lounge on her down time. Mostly, she didn't have a lot of downtime and when she did, she often found things to do or slept or whatever. It was rare, either in this time and place or her previous time and place, that Peggy Carter made the time to relax. However, this evening in particular she found herself looking with interest at a glass of red wine, so that's what brought her to the lounge that evening. She ordered a drink and took it over near the windows, where she was able to enjoy watching the stars blur past, all the while keeping her focus and attention on the movements and conversation around her. She couldn't help but keep an eye on the door, wondering if perhaps Howard might walk in.

Oh, Howard showed up. It was a lounge, there was drinks and the chance to speak to beautiful women or interesting people or, if he was lucky, beautiful, interesting women. Lucky for him, he spotted what he knew would be at least two people to fall into that last category as soon as he walked into the joint.

He ordered a drink and then immediately headed to Peggy. It was tempting to head to the flirtatious red-head but common sense won out. He'd known Peggy for a lot of years. He respected her, for her intelligence and her gumption and her abilities, and that was a relationship, a friendship, that he wanted to keep in his life for however much longer he had. He wouldn't be much of a friend if he ignored her for the chance at a roll in the sack.

"Enjoying the view?"

She turned to him, unsurprised that he sought her out, and smiled with her lips pressed close together. "I am," she said. "You know, I probably shouldn't admit this because you'll never let me live it down, but I'm pretty glad you showed up here, Howard." Her eyes lit up a little bit as she looked at him. Since Bucky and Steve had both left, she had been feeling lonely. Not all the time, of course. Getting to know Phil Coulson was a plus; she enjoyed his company immensely. And there were others here as well, that she was getting to know. But it was always nice to see a familiar face around like this.

"Because your days are far less exciting when I'm not around?" Of course Howard was joking as he took a seat beside her. He knew that no matter where she was, no matter who she was with, Peggy Carter would do more than just survive- she would thrive. That's just how she was and it was one of the things he admired most about her. And there was a lot to admire about Peggy Carter.

"Well, I don't know if exciting would be the exactly correct word to put on it," she teased. "Perhaps something more like, less life-threatening. Or less ... concerning." Peggy sipped her wine and crossed an arm over her stomach. She had things she needed to ask him, though she wasn't sure where to begin.

"Have you had a chance to talk to some of the other travelers?" she asked after a moment. She wiped a drop of wine from the corner of her mouth. "It's a little jarring that we have all been pulled from various points in the time line and deposited here. What year was it for you, before you woke up here?"

"Is that your way of saying that you need more of that in your life here?" he teased, grinning from ear to ear. Because there was no way that the quiet life suited her. Even if she tried to tell him it did, he would call her a liar and find some sort of trouble to get into where she would have to rescue him, just to prove his point.

He took a sip of his drink, a perfectly mixed Bloody Mary with just the right amount of kick, and shrugged. "I've spoken to a few people here and there," he said. "Spent a lot of time in Engineering with Scotty. I'm taking a crash course on the history of the warp drive and, Peg... Have you seen it close up? It is a thing of beauty." Another sip was accompanied with a smirk. "If I was the marrying type, I might propose to it right now."

"I do not," she said, looking at him seriously. "We are on a tin box hurtling through space. I would appreciate it if you didn't jeopardize the lives of everyone in board just to have a little fun." Her serious expression dropped quickly though, and she smiled again.

She tipped her head to the side, amused by his enthusiasm. It didn't surprise her at all. "I've had my engineering tour, yes," she said. "I'm not surprised at all that you're in love with it. I hope you won't disappear inside there all the time now that you're here." What a hypocritical thing for her to say, really, seeing as she spent most of her time hiding away in the traveler liaison office.

A moment, and then. "You know, current evidence points to you discovering one day that you actually are the marrying type."

Kristoff lumbered his way around the lounge with some kind of ale in hand, not that he really wanted to be drinking but it seemed like everyone had a glass in hand when they were here. And he wanted to fit in, even if, all these weeks later, none of this felt like home or even comfortable for him.

He still needed to find something to do, he realized. There was no need for someone to harvest ice here, and that was pretty much all that he knew how to do. Maybe, he thought, he might be able to meet someone here to talk to that might be able to make him consider what he could do to keep busy.

"It would be a lot more lonely," Lomea agreed. While she had people from her galaxy on board, none of them were from her time, and she'd known none of them personally. "There are perhaps a few I miss. The others can rot. I've discovered some new, and interesting friendships on this ship. Perhaps you should expand your horizons?"

Granted, her friendship with his queen was part interest in Elsa's powers, and part interested in other things of Elsa's. But it was still interesting.

Natasha was not herself, but she also knew how to hide her inner struggles. She had decades of mastering the skill. So as usual, she came to the Deck to relax. To put on a smile and drink alone. Though, her body was becoming immune to her blue drink. Which was tragic since it was the only thing that gave her a buzz. But she didn't worry much about it. Her frame stepped in as usual, as she came to take a seat at the booth she had claimed hers. It was typically the same one.

That blue drink in hand, as she let her finger trace along the rim of the cool glass. Thoughts--memories clouded her head. It was something she always struggled with. But she hadn't the need to in the past years. Not until she arrived here and everything had changed. Sure, she had Tony and Bruce. But they were busy with their own dealings. She understood how it went. It made her realize how dependent she had become of Clint to keep her company. Her fist balled slightly at the thought.

Slowly, she came to exhale deeply. Bruce said this was a second chance for people. He had his ripped from him, Tony was content. Even Coulson was here. Maria too which made her relax a bit. Not completely. She hated depending on others. She had grown soft, and deep down she could feel something darkening inside her.

Her red hair would be cut short and in light curls. She wore a white long sleeve top with a pencil skirt and heels. She wanted a distraction tonight. Anything to get her mind off the memories from the past and the memories forming now. She was struggling to hold on, but on the outside, she looked as calm and collective as always. no one knew the struggle she was dealing with inside. But it was no one's business either.

After a while, Howard excused himself from Peggy's company. He wasn't an idiot. He knew he had a strong personality and there was only so much Carter could stand of him before she had enough and needed a break. That was fine. It was like that with just about everyone and always had been. But alienating the lovely British woman- again- wasn't something he wanted to do, so off he went.

He ordered another drink at the bar and then made to join Natalia.

"It's a damn shame, seeing a beautiful woman sitting on her own like this. Care for some company?"

Though she might have looked like she was daydreaming, Natasha was well aware of who was around her. So, when Sta-- Howard came to her table she gave a mischief side smirk. "I can always go for company." She replied as she came to glance around for the moment. Oh, how she secretly hoped Tony was around. If not, she would be sure to send him a stronger drink tonight.

"I see you're catching up with old friends." She said as she motioned towards Peggy. Peggy was amazing, and a lot of women looked up to her. Natasha probably would have also, if she was born in America. But Nat knew the woman and respected her. She did create SHIELD after all. And without SHIELD, none of them would be here.

"I was starting to think you'd forgotten about me." She replied with a light wink in his direction as she took a sip of her glass.

"Business before pleasure, Red," he said with an equally mischievous smirk as he dropped into the seat other seat in the booth. While Howard would openly admit to being something of a social butterfly (because it wasn't like the papers would ever let anyone back home forget it), he knew there was a time to buckle down and get work done and there was a time where he could play. Getting familiar with the ship, with the crew, with the incredible, glorious mechanics of the Enterprise- that had to take priority over everything else, even friendship. At least for the time being.

Still, all work and no play made Howard a very dull boy.

"But you are not a woman that a man easily forgets."

"You are going to be trouble, Kotyonok" She replied, the last word being Russian, specifically meaning kitten. Still, she understood the way a Stark mind worked. She worked with Tony for years but that wasn't something she could tell him.

"And tell me, what makes a woman like me so special?" Besides, the fact that I could kill you without you ever realizing it. Or anyone for that matter She thought to herself, as she shook those thoughts back. She was not the Widow anymore. Wasn't she? It was a struggle she was dealing with daily.

But at least, Howard would be a nice distraction.

"Going to be?" Howard grinned. "Sugar, I thought I already was." He'd certainly been told so many, many times by a wide variety of people. Hell, he could count on one hand the number of people who knew who hadn't told him he was trouble or at least something along those lines. Actually, the description he got most often was pain in the ass, especially from Congress.

What made a woman like her so special? Now that was one hell of a question there. "Now that is a dangerous question. It's been my experience that a woman who asks that is looking for a particular answer." He swirled his drink in is glass, eyes narrowing as he watched her, like he was trying to see what made her tick. "What answer are you looking for, Red?"

There was a lot to be said for trying to get to know more of the people aboard, so Sam decided it couldn't hurt to show up to the Welcome event. She knew it happened every Saturday, but that didn't stop it from being a good chance to meet people. It was still really weird for her having a bar like this on a ship. She tried not to think about what some of their former enemies would think about this kind of ship, what kind of enemy earth would become because of it.

Shaking off all those feelings she found herself sitting at the bar with some kind of ale she'd never heard of before in front of her.

Leia walked up to the bar and asked for a brandy, the same kind she drank every other time that she ended up in the lounge for one of these things. Or for any reason at all. Chris was on duty and she knew it was a good idea to get out and do something for a while. She turned and smiled at the woman beside her. "Probably cliche to say but I haven't met you yet. Are you a new arrival?"
