Welcome to the Deck 5 Lounge

Mary smiled at Jadzia, honestly glad to see her. She liked her roommate, which was fortunate since they had to live together. "I sent you a message a few days ago. Did you see it?"

Perhaps it had gotten lost or not gone through, or perhaps Jadzia had preferred to talk to Mary in person. Or perhaps she didn't want to talk about it at all. Mary couldn't really blame her if she didn't want to discuss Mary's love life.

	"Oh." Jadzia rubbed a hand over her face. "I'm so sorry. I did see it, but then things got a little busy and I never got around to responding." Which was the truth, and Jadzia felt bad about it. 	It was fine. Mary wasn't upset about it, and she was glad that they were getting to talk about it now. 	"No," Mary replied as an answer to both questions. "I like him and we are friends, but I do not think I would want a relationship with him. He does not want one with me." Jadzia wondered if that had hurt Mary's feelings. Maybe not not having a relationship, but some men could be really blunt about it. "That's good. Always a good sign if you remain friends. Sometimes it can get really awkward."

She flashed back to one before she'd served on DS9 and grimaced. "Really awkward. But it's freeing, too. Enjoying yourself and him with no worries about the emotional side-effects."

	Mary would like to think that she did not have feelings. Unfortunately, she would be wrong. She couldn't quite say if her feelings were hurt though. That would imply that she had feelings for Lucifer that were greater than friendship. "Apparently that is more difficult than I thought it would be for a woman like me. 	Something told Jadzia that stubborn women were Lucifer's type. Then again, they were kind of Jadzia's type, in so much that she had a type. Lenara had been very stubborn and Jadzia had nearly caused them both to be exiled from their homeworld over it. Come to think of it, Worf was pretty stubborn too. "Err, it was before... Lucifer." And possibly explained Lucifer, even slightly. She and Lucifer had a lot of history that added to her ending up in his bed. "Anyway, he took me to Starfleet headquarters and showed me some books - real ones. It was quite sweet."

Mary laughed slightly, shaking her head, her cheeks slightly flushed. "Anyway, I am sure that you are tired of hearing about my romantic life."

	That actually did explain Lucifer. Jadzia bit back a comment about the Captain making it hard to resist urges. "That does sound sweet. Bet you didn't expect him to think about that." Mary did carry herself with a certain level of regality and she was sure that was obvious to Jim. Perhaps he could tell that she came from a time and society that were very proper and he was acting accordingly. "I enjoyed my time with him," she said. "I told him that I looked forward to our next time together."

She cocked an eyebrow at Jadzia's comment. "Who is extra distracting?"
