Nothing's gonna start if you and I do nothing
Who: Lachlan, Fiona, other resistants
What: the train track job
When: late at night, technically on March 16
Where: the railway a little way out of Glynn
Slipping out unnoticed had become so much more difficult for Fiona, ever since Belmont had hired security for the manor. Still, she had made it off the grounds with her bike, and met up with the other four members of her cell that were in on this operation. Lachlan, of course, and three other trustworthy resistants she could trust to be quiet and smart, whatever happened.
Their orders were clear, and thanks to the money Lachlan had been siphoning from the gardening budget, acquiring the materials for their homemade bomb had been much easier than if they had had to find them cheap. Fiona trusted the bomb itself better than if they had made it with cheap materials, anyway. It was worth paying more, when the stakes were so high.
They'd ridden their bikes to the railway a small way out of town, five dark, hooded shadows sweeping through the night. They took their bikes off the road when they got there. "You two, look out," Fiona told two of them. That left three of them to head over and lay the bomb on the tracks, set it, then run off out of range before it went off. "Let's go," she told the other two, including Lachlan, who carried the bomb in his bag. She led the way, off the road, towards the railway.
