Lachlan shook his head emphatically. "No, the process will take as long as it takes. You have even less time to get back to your room than I do. If nothing else, leave now so that you have the freedom to heal me tomorrow, or the day after. Anything is better than staying for my sake, only for you to be arrested because of it."
The situation was serious, but Lachlan did not want to lend it any gravity that might draw Fiona in, when she had to fly away from the scene as fast as she was able. Lachlan arched a brow at the curved needle, as if the pharmacist held a feather instead, and he grinned. "Taking it easy and not exposing myself? Sounds as if I am in for a boring time. Come on then, do your worst, or I'm going to end up bleeding all over your nice clean floor."
