Where's the Orchestra?
Who: Group Thread
What: A Play!
When: Thursday Evening, June 30th
Where: Ceddon's Bounty, Main Floor
The main floor of Ceddon’s Bounty has been rearranged to make sufficient space for a small performance area in the midst of the room, tables and chairs shifted to give a majority of them an adequate view.
The Aurellian performance begins after dark, retelling a popular story of two young Ealdor lovers, kept apart by their family’s rivalry and the antics of their lower caste servants as they scheme to get their masters together. The story is comedic and semi-improvised with skilled actors using minimal props and incorporating their environment for best effect. A modest level of audience participation is both expected and encouraged. The characters themselves are archetypal and well understood by Aurellian audiences or those familiar with the narrative culture of Aurelle.
The young lovers are, naturally, both beautiful and earnest to the point of absurdity. Their servants are vivid and likable, the bulk of the humor coming from their puns and sassy asides as they trick their betters into letting go of their grudges. The play is in two acts with a thirty minute intermission and much of Glynn has arrived to watch.
The pub is raucous and crowded but there are seats enough for most and always the possibility of slipping upstairs to get away from the noise.
