Who: Gemma Davenport and Fletcher Charleston
What: Moving into their new house!
Where: See above!
When: Monday night, October 25th
Warnings: Probably not very many?
All things considered, Fletcher had settled on an appropriate house for the two of them rather quickly. It had felt like forever, of course, and the process had been frustrating at best, but before she knew it, they had a house that was completely their own, rather than a consolation prize for a failed marriage turned scene of the crime. They had a home. It wasn't quite a new start, but it was enough. Gemma had never been happier to pack up her things and discretely carry them out to her car. It wasn't like the neighbors would notice, but you couldn't be too careful these days. Especially when your husband was a fugitive.
It wasn't until after dark that Gemma finally finished unpacking for the day – though, considering she'd been at work all day and had only been home for a mere few hours, she hadn't really accomplished all that much. Most of her clothes and personal belongings were still back at the house, but at least they had the essentials now. Food, dishes, appliances, toiletries, a brand new bed with brand new sheets, and each other. What more did they need?
Sighing contentedly, she sat on the edge of their bed and waited for Fletcher to join her. Although her life was nowhere near perfect and the majority of her problems were nowhere close to solved, she was happy. And for once, she didn't feel guilty for being happy, either. Nothing could ruin her good mood tonight. Except for maybe that nagging sensation at the back of her head, like something was missing. Something important. She knew exactly what it was, too. That was the problem, and the reason why she didn't want to think about it. If at all possible, she wanted this feeling to last. At least for a little while. After all she'd been through lately, that could possibly be too much to ask.
Sighing again, she ran her fingers through her hair. What was the line from that movie? 'Don't think about elephants'? Too late. She was definitely thinking about elephants now. "Shit."
