Who: Michelle Kingston and Nick Lafayette
What: Lucifer is an asshole Angel and Demon come together under not the best of circumstances. The day after this.
When: Monday, October 4, 2010 (Sideway's World)
Where: St. James Park, England. Then a trip Downstairs.
Warnings: Awkward Angst? And now Nick has the torcha scrunchie, so, warning to all. There will be blood.
Michelle hadn't slept all night. How could she after the conversation she'd had with Nick the night before? Though if she were being honest with herself, she hadn't actually slept a full night in months, not since everything had changed for her. As if that didn't make this any less her fault. She couldn't find it in her angelic heart to forgive herself of her mistakes, she didn't deserve it, so she didn't blame her sister for cutting her out of her life either. They hadn't spoken since the day Michelle had made a deal with the devil.
She still remembered that day like it was yesterday. She'd gone to Michael, completely unaware of the monumental mistake that was. She'd been upset, irrationally distraught over her lot in life. Lucifer, masquerading as Michael, had been patronizingly understanding. The next thing she knew, she was trading her soul for her family's immortality. She didn't want to live forever, but she didn't have a choice. Her siblings did have a choice, and she'd taken that choice away from them, along with her own freedom.
There was no excuse for what she'd done, so Michelle could hardly bring herself to feel sorry for herself now. Michael, Lucifer, whoever he was these days, if he wanted to test her? That was fine. She'd been expecting this at some point, she just hadn't counted on the other person involved. In some sick and twisted way she would actually rather it be Nick then someone she didn't trust. By the time the next day came around, she was more or less resigned to her fate. Resigned in a way where she was still completely and utterly terrified.
For half the day she'd stayed in her apartment until she couldn't take it anymore, being alone with her thoughts was killing her more then anything Lucifer could probably do to her. That was how she'd found herself at an MTN and wound up in England. She hadn't planned on it, but it only seemed right. With Aziraphale's soft murmurings of support in her ears, they'd made their way to St. James Park. Crowley would know to find them there. It was approaching dusk and Michelle was sitting hunched over on a bench by the pond, occasionally throwing stray pebbles into the water and disturbing the ducks. Someone jobbed by her close and slow enough that she could hear the faint strains of Queen's 'Another One Bites the Dust' and she couldn't help smiling.
