One of Raff's very finest qualities, in his own opinion, was that he was virtually impossible to offend. Her hasty backtracking was even more endearing than the stream of chatter had been in the first place; his smile curved into something just a little less crooked and a little more obviously happy. The fact that he'd made her laugh, that was icing on the cake. Raff couldn't remember the last time an interaction had managed to go this well for this long. Normally he'd manage to offend, or annoy, someone by now.
"Oh, the most serious," he agreed. Raff's serious voice wasn't actually any more serious than hers and maybe even a little sillier, given his attempt to also mimic Lรฉon's accent. Saying it didn't go well would be an understatement.
Of course, given the man's job, Raff supposed it did take someone very serious to not only manage the lot of them, but to somehow be in a relationship with the least manageable of all of them. He wouldn't want to try to date Leander, that was for certain. "Please tell me you've got some sort of embarrassing story about him, growing up. Or was he always like this, just a bit smaller?"
Raff didn't know much about the man, necessarily, but he was just assuming that he was not just Claire's older brother but the oldest of whatever larger sibling group the two of them might have been part of, if there was one at all. It was less common now to have a whole passel of brats in case some of them didn't live to be adults than it had been back when Raff was still alive and part of the lot of them.
