Note: As usual, make use of our standard subthread format when posting closed and open subthreads with your characters. Reminder: your character doesn't have to be an official member of either organization to attend this ball but everyone on the guest list would have been intensely vetted so probably people with known criminal records (ie. Resistance activity, etc) wouldn't be allowed in for safety reasons.
Things hadn't been easy for the reincarnate community in recent months. Things were never very easy, but the virus outbreak had rocked the community hard. Much harder than any other incident had in quite some time. Many reincarnates had lost friends, family members, colleagues, people they cared about. And there were many more reincarnates who had lost their own lives. It wasn't the first time the reincarnate community had seen that kind of devastation and loss, but that didn't mean people stopped showing compassion every time it happened. As a community, reincarnates were regularly persecuted, both by the rest of the world and by their own kind much of the time. That's why it was up to organizations like Camelot and the Agency to reach out to the rest of the community in times of great need, to give aid where they could and help people come together, just when everything felt at their most hopeless.
Which is why, tonight, Camelot with the help of the Agency was holding a ball to raise money for the clinic as well as victims and their families of the virus that had ravaged the reincarnate community only a few short months ago. The planning itself had only taken a little over a month, thanks to contributions from various departments inside Camelot and the Agency as well as some outside hired help. When all was said and done, they had a nice, spacious venue reserved for the event in an accessible part of London, not all that far from the London MTN for any reincarnates coming from other cities or countries, but far enough that it could be considered a neutral location between Camelot and Agency interests. Despite this being a benefit put on by two official reincarnate organizations, you weren't required to be a member of either to attend, as long as you were there to support their mutual cause.
Inside, the venue itself was a huge performance hall that had been recently cleared out, from the outside looking like a fairly inconspicuous building in case of prying, mundy eyes. For obvious reasons, non-reincarnates weren't invited to the event, and the security details outside and around the venue were put in place to keep out the undesirables for safety reasons. You wouldn't be able to get past security or the man in uniform at the front entrance unless you were on his list. Everyone who works for Camelot and the Agency were automatically on the guest list, while everyone else would have had to R.S.V.P before today in order to secure a spot at a table, including outside guests being brought by members, all of whom were permitted to attend after individual background checks were made. Despite being advertised as open to the public, this particular brand of exclusivity is an unfortunate necessity considering the organizations running this event, and just how many enemies they have that might have tried to interfere.
Since it's a charity ball, there are tables set up to the side where donations can be made once inside the building, including a place to sign up for a raffle that will be held later that evening, with all those proceeds going directly to help those who have suffered because of the virus. There's also a spot further in the room where tables and chairs are set up for eating, rows of tables full of food and drink, as well as a wide, open dance floor and a live cover band playing, one of the many reincarnate affiliated music groups that has ridden to reincarnate celebrity stardom in recent years. The place was appropriately decorated to fit the semi-formal setting, all the guests in various styles of formal attire and some very obviously taking advantage of the black tie optional amendment. By seven o'clock that night, the ball was in full swing, and may or may not start to wind down until well after midnight.
