Who: Rowan Stark & Andrei Kovac
What: Morning after a full moon
Where: Rowan's apartment
When: Friday morning, December 25th 2015
Warnings: More Christmas-y fluff
Being that the full moon this month was on Christmas Eve, Rowan had insisted that Drei crash at their apartment afterward. He was sure his roommates wouldn't mind, and even if they did, well, they would just have to live with it. Drei had already done enough for Rowan that the least he could do was offer his friend a couch to sleep on Christmas Day, so when they'd finally found clothes and staggered their way to the car in the wee hours of the morning, Rowan had driven them back to his place where they'd both collapsed immediately. Now that Rowan had experienced what it was like to be a werewolf for a night not once, but three times, he fully understood how Drei could be so physically drained afterward. He'd barely been able to keep his eyes open on the drive, but out of a desire not to drive them both off the road, he'd managed to stay conscious just up to the point where he threw himself onto his own bed and his head hit the pillow. Then, Rowan was fast asleep.
He slept for what felt like an entire day, when really only five or six hours passed. Rowan had always been particularly tired after a full moon, back when he was only getting the flu once a month, but somehow this was different. Somehow, instead of suffering restless after restless sleep and night sweats, instead he was having the best sleeps of his life, and waking up actually feeling somewhat rested. Still exhausted, considering what his body had just been through the night before, but somehow... better. As hesitant as he had been in the beginning about this, Rowan was quickly warming to the idea of transforming once a month, though he did realize he was lucky enough to have people in his life who made the whole thing easier. He had Wyatt and Phoenix, who helped in ways only those who knew him and Remus best could, and he had Drei, his only friend in their particular kind of furry club. When all was said and done, Rowan was pretty lucky. He was aware of that.
When he finally woke up it was just past eleven, and the only reason he'd even found his way back to consciousness was because of the light coming in through his window that was hitting him in the face. Rowan winced when he shifted in his bed, muscles still a little stiff and sore from the night before. It took a little coaxing, but Rowan finally forced himself up into a sitting position, before pushing himself out of bed completely with a reluctant groan. It wasn't like he really had to get up, he could probably have slept all day if he'd wanted to, but it was still Christmas, and Rowan had a friend on the couch. Emerging from his bedroom in sweatpants and a white under shirt, Rowan shuffled sleepily into the kitchen to make coffee. The apartment was strangely quiet, his roommates were clearly either gone or dead, Rowan was still too tired to figure out which. Once the coffee was brewed, he poured two cups and took them into the living room, setting Drei's down on the coffee table just near enough to where his head was positioned on the couch that he would most likely smell it. Rowan himself sat down in the arm chair nearby, content to patiently wait until Drei woke up on his own, holding his own mug near enough to his face that he could have taken a sip but he was still so groggy that his brain hadn't quite made the connection yet. Only when the aroma finally became so strong that he couldn't ignore it did Rowan finally take a long gulp of it, sighing gratefully and leaning his head back against the cushion behind him to close his eyes again.
