Who: Clementine Bennett and Gemma Davenport
What: The women of the Hot Scots finally get to chat, though not under the best circumstances.
When: Sunday evening.
Where: Clementine's apartment, San Diego.
Warnings: Probably pretty mild.
Her apartment was in no way ready to entertain guests, but she didn't have a whole lot of choice at the moment. Lorne had asked her if she could handle some, um, slightly complicated company. There was no way she was going to tell him no, especially as worried as she was. And, really, she didn't mind. The only time she'd had any hesitation was when four people showed up, three of them armed, two of them with what her secret sci-fi geek side easily identified as lightsabers. She'd gotten in over her head way too fast, but Kaylee was used to that. Sometimes, it was beyond useful to have a reincarnate willing to talk her through the strangest situations.
Slowly but surely, people wandered off. Lorne's brother, who was way more intimidating than she could have imagined, had left quick, along with the guy with the lightsaber. Then the other girl wandered off. Even Lorne had left at some point during the evening, because her apartment was sadly lacking in things like dishes to feed three people. As it was, she'd had to shove a lot of boxes around just so that people would be able to sit down. Furniture that wasn't just barstools and milk crates was going at the top of her list, especially if this place was going to turn in to a waystation for people on the run. When had this become her life?
Things were fairly quiet now, despite how busy they'd been for the whole day. Clem took the opportunity to dig through a few boxes, coming up with a teapot and a couple of cups. She really should have labeled things better. Tea was a must, though. Gemma had gone through an even rougher weekend than she had, and she could probably use a little tea-induced comfort. Once everything was done and brewed, she poured two mugs and went to the bedroom, where she'd insisted that the older woman get some rest. She knocked once before poking her head in with a smile.
"Hey, everything okay in here?" She put a hand through the door, showing off the china mug that she'd stolen from her dad's place. "I made tea."
