Who: EVERYONE. Everyone is invited.
What: This is Halloween.
Where: The Bates Motel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
When: Saturday night, October 31st, 2015
Warnings: Every kind of warning probably.
For twenty-five years, the Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride have been a staple in the country's most popular Halloween festivities, number one haunted attraction and always a place for a good scare. The Haunted Hayride is an action packed, heart pounding ride through the dark forest of Arasapha Farm, located just outside of Philadelphia, and filled with hired actors, detailed sets, giant monsters and the most elaborate pyrotechnics a place like this can offer. The Bates Motel, widely known as one of the best Haunted Houses in America, is its own brand of terror apart from the hayride and corn maze on the property. Levitating spirits, floor boards that come alive, trick walls, pictures that follow you, a creepy hotel staff hired to keep you entertained. All the typical sort of theatrical effects that one might expect from a glorified haunted house.
But tonight, it won't all be harmless tricks and treats. Tonight, the attractions will come alive, with the supernatural and the unexplained lurking behind every corridor and haystack. Every room in the hotel is unique. Invisible chemicals in one room can alter a guest’s pheromones and personality, while another might have hands coming up through the floor boards that might not necessarily be fake. That bowl of grapes on the table you're putting your hand into? Hope you like human eyeballs. If you're in a group, try not to get separated, you could suddenly find yourselves trapped in another part of the house facing one of your worst fears. You may have already noticed some strange things happening this Halloween, things from nightmares and legends chasing people in every city and town, and this place is no exception to the rule. Bonus points for getting out of the corn maze alive, if you think that scarecrow's eyes are watching you, they probably are. And look out for the candy, if you eat it you may just find yourself under someone else's control.
When the clock strikes seven o’clock on Halloween night, the doors of the hotel will be opened to anyone brave enough to come, and at first the whole place will seem like one big, harmless haunted house. Rooms full of party favors and spirits (of the beverage variety...), bigger rooms for dancing and good, old fashioned Halloween themed fun with spooky but otherwise non-living decorations. People are encouraged to come in costume, but not required. Lambs for slaughter only need their skin, after all. The party will seem like it’s going off without a hitch and guests are having the time of their lives, never wanting to leave. When the house and other guests start to turn on you and monsters themselves become real...
You’ll be lucky to make it out of there alive.
