Who: Catalina Reyes and Lindy Allan
What: Flying practice went wrong! OOPS!
Where: Calgary, Alberta
When: ...Probably Tuesday evening.
Warnings: Watch this space. But also swearing.
Now that she was on an actual superhero team with people who would in all probability come to rely on her Lina figured that she should probably work on a few things. The whole dimensional travel was one of them, but given her last experience of that, she wanted to be prepared to get stuck in God knows where for a couple of weeks before trying again, so flying was the better option to practice on her days off. Plus, she really hadn't gotten used to the speed of it so landing was always a problem.
Such as now. She was fast approaching a city and now was probably as good a time as any to stop and maybe turn around and go back. The idea was better than the execution, as always. She had been aiming to stop before the streets started hemming her in, she always found open spaces to be the best place for her to land. There was less chance of her destroying everything. However, she overshot, and now she was coming down over buildings. Changing her mind, she adjusted her flight to take her back up. She could always circle around the city and stop once she was in more open ground, but as she did so, she clipped the side of a building and that sent her spiralling out of control.
By the time Lina knew which way was up and could make a decision about which way to go, she was already slamming straight into a window. Which didn't break. It bounced her right back and across the street, leaving her in a heap cursing loudly to herself. Thank all the gods of the multiverse that she'd chosen to do this at night.
"Mother fucker. Who the fuck put a store there?" She rubbed at her neck and shoulder which seemed to have taken the brunt of the impact then started to get up, trying to orientate herself. Where the fuck had she ended up? She wasn't keeping track of how far she'd come.
