WHO: Emma Lockhart and Scott Morgan
WHEN: An hour or so after this.
WHAT: Two old friends are meeting up to talk and dragging their host bodies with them.
WHERE: One of many Starbucks in New York City.
Alright, Scott could admit it. Beneath the joking demeanor and "look at me!" antics he shouted around everybody, there were demons beneath his skin that he tried to keep at bay along with the rest of them. Sure, Gendry's timeline (so far) wasn't as bad as, say, the Starks, but being a bastard wasn't easy, and living in Westeros period was hard. And Gendry was the kind've guy who felt the pain of those around him--or, more specifically, he was very in-tune with Arya whether he wanted to admit it out loud or not. So having a season featuring the death of Arya's brother and mother, and having it plastered everywhere was messing with his head.
On top of that, Gendry was having a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that he was the bastard son of Rob Baratheon. He didn't get the news in an awesome way or anything, and it completely changed everything about his life. Apparently it put him in more danger. Who knew? Scott was used to his family name making him have a target on his back, but Gendry hadn't thought he was anything but a lowly blacksmith bastard living amongst lords. It was a lot for a guy to take.
Eventually, drinking had seemed like a really good idea even if he had a couple of swords that still needed to be made in a timely manner. It obviously hadn't gone well if the wrapping on his forearm was any indication, and now he sat in a a Starbucks in lower Manhattan, sipping on a coffee. He had long since sobered up, but caffeine seemed a good idea to wake his senses and keep himself more alert. He was a Morgan out in the real world after all. Maybe meeting Emma out in public wasn't such a good idea.
