Who: Charlotte Evans and Tristan Lewis
What: Invitations and a whole lot of staring
Where: Camelot Castle (specifically, one of the gyms)
When: Wednesday, July 14th, around mid-afternoon
Warnings: None? Just, you know. Staring.
Charlotte Evans had always been a person who operated best when busy, and lately, her new job as her brother's assistant had been no different. Unsurprisingly, those first few weeks had been rather slow, more fighting with Daniel over his unprofessional attire than helping along any important decisions, but the new recruitment cycle had changed all that. They'd had an enormously positive response, and she'd spent a good majority of the week shadowing meetings between Daniel and the heads of their various departments, taking notes and attempting to put together a neat and tidy list of where all the new recruits ought to end up. That wasn't technically her job, and it was entirely possible she was overstepping her bounds just a little, but thankfully, Daniel didn't seem to mind. He never did. Sometimes he was too laid-back for his own good, but no one could say it didn't work for him.
As she made her way down to one of the castle's larger gyms, she smiled to herself and let out a little satisfied sigh. There was nothing better than a job well done – even though she disagreed with Snow about most things, she could at least agree with that. She was glad she had the same work ethic, and she was gladder still that that was the only thing they shared. It had taken Charlotte a long time to realize it, but she was a completely different person from Snow, and the last thing she wanted was to change herself to be more like her. Trying to do so had nearly driven her mad, and she wasn't eager to repeat that. At least Briar seemed to understand that, and maybe Jeremiah did too, but she still couldn't quite tell. Like Bigby, he was almost impossible to read. But she couldn't think about that, either. It only made her irritable and moody, and right now she didn't want anything to ruin her good mood. She had business to attend to!
... Well, business, and something a little more. Since she'd talked to Briar about her party this weekend, she hadn't seen Tristan and hadn't had a chance to invite him, even though they'd been continuing their dinners almost on a nightly basis now. She enjoyed talking to him, and he seemed to enjoy talking to her, so why not, really? He was much more interesting that she'd expected, and more than that, he was instantly relatable – though he was older than her, he was just as new to this immortality thing as she was, and that was tremendously refreshing. The other immortals meant well, she knew that, but she sick of all their 'advice.' It wasn't helpful, it was just confusing. At least she had someone now who was shared her level of bewilderment, even if he did seem to carry it a bit better than she did. Must have been the fairy king. Snow wasn't exactly known for handling things well.
Finally, after a good ten minute walk, she made it to the gym and walked briskly inside, clipboard tightly hugged to her chest, clearly a woman on a mission. She had a lot to cover with Tristan, and the sooner she started, the – oh.
She halted abruptly mid-step, and she couldn't help it, she stared. It took her a moment to register what she was seeing, and a few moments more to realize that she was being silly, of course he was... he was very... Oh, for Pete's sake, he was in the gym, a member of the training department – this is what they did all day, wasn't it? Training! It was perfectly logical, so why was she so incredibly shocked to see him like this? But even so, she couldn't help but tilt her head to the side curiously and appreciate what she was seeing for all of one second before she gave herself a little shake and resumed walking toward him. She was a little less brisk now, though, and she held onto that clipboard practically for dear life, but at least she wasn't hesitant when she finally spoke up to get his attention. "Tristan? Do you mind if I have a word with you?"
