WHO Cora/Hera & Jeremiah/Poseidon
WHEN 11 March 2012 | eveningtime
WHERE Starbucks
WHAT there is a lot for two siblings separated by thousands of years to catch up on. what better way then coffee?
Her laptop was open in front of her, the screen wide and white, a little cursor just blinking in the corner, taunting her, tempting her to type something--anything. A year she had lived in the city, a year and the only social contact she got were her patients which usually involved a lot of screaming and crying between two people that just wanted to make their marriage work (or in many cases one of them wanted too and one of them just wanted the other to shut the hell up). Neither she nor Hera really agreed with the idea of a hookup site or some Match.com thing but she was getting lonely, to be honest, they both were. The barista at least knew her drink preference but that was more to do with her almost scheduled appearances rather than camaraderie. Grande, white mocha, soy milk, no whip, over ice or not depending on the weather. About two weeks ago she didn't even have to say it out loud, she walked in and the woman smiled and put in the order and took her card. Cora leaned back in her seat and sighed. She really needed to get out and do something; maybe this blog thing wasn't such a bad idea, it at least was interesting, Hera was even pushing her toward this one and the two of them rarely agreed on social things. Picking up her cup to swirl the contents and take a drink she was trying to think of something witty and funny to say when Hera suddenly was pushing her out of the way, aware of a type of presence that Cora and she hadn't felt in years. |
