He was an intimidating figure to be sure, standing imperiously tall and draped in the white robes of his station. He could have been a high priest, or a king. Indeed, he was both at once and even then a solemn judge. Somewhere along the way he had dropped the Staff of Doom, but the crown of garnets still circled his dark hair. Lines of worry creased his visage and he stared in concentration down at the little contraption they had given him for communication. He had not yet retreated to his provided abode, for once he had heard news of his dying brother he had elected to forgo personal comforts in order to be at his side. It surprised him though when SHIELD alerted him to the presence of the others, but was pleased that they were his cousins. Including his cousin-Captain and Lord Glorfindel. That, at least, meant he would have a familiar face nearby. Not that any of his cousins were unfamiliar, it was only that they were dead according to his knowledge.
Aye, dead within years of each other.
Except Maedhros. Turgon brushed aside the uneasy feeling in his heart and mind and turned instead to pace down the length of the room, his mind churning thoughts about in an endless circle. Fingon.
Alive, now. But dying. Dying before his eyes as he had the last time Turgon had seen him. The Balrogs had been fierce and merciless. He closed his eyes, covering his face with thin hands to calm himself before looking up. He composed himself when he heard approaching feet and half turned to see. A nurse, perhaps? Come to conduct a routine check on his brothers' vitals. He was unconscious.
It wasn't a nurse who approached.
