How does anyone get a job here that can actually support themselves without a college education or relevant work experience in the field? We're lucky we don't have to pay for these apartments, or many of us would be really shit out of luck.

This is how people get sucked into doing things they don't really want to be doing, because they don't think they have a choice, and often, they don't. We got trapped this way on the Ark, too. We all had a part to play to keep it going, we'd do what our parents did, or we'd start training young because we were good at whatever it was. I was never g Or we'd do things we weren't proud of because it meant we'd see another day, or it meant having food on the table. It's not any different here, but I can't even say I'm surprised. The only thing I'm remotely qualified for is a security guard or soldier. I don't know a damn thing about waiting tables or working in an office. Maybe I'll just have Starbucks teach me how to make coffee and be done with it.

You need a guardian, and I'm not going to let some company I know nothing about do this for me. You'll have to go to school, at least for a while. It could be good for you.
