I can cross off "getting hit by a car" or perhaps "survive getting hit by a car" from the bucket list, not that it was particularly there before. Thankfully, said car was not driving quickly and hit the brakes before, say, pinning me to a store front. I still spent most of yesterday evening in the closest hospital's ER, along with what felt like half of Manhattan. No one freak out though. The car wasn't driving past fifteen - twenty miles per hour, the doctors said, and I'm fortunate. It's mostly a lot of bruises and being told to take it easy.

Tough guy that I am, I still wouldn't mind taking the magical cheating way out, if you have one.

It's my version of the salve. I've had reason from time to time to need it. I'd prefer to keep my supply of Felix Felicis for more serious events than avoiding car accidents. And I have a suspicion that time might be coming sooner rather than later.

Your version always goes above and beyond. Once a spy always a spy? There's always a war on terror now. Relax, the doctors didn't know about you or your luck potion. Metaphorical prescription. But the light alone make you think that, or do you know something more?

There's always a way to improve things. The trick is working out which improvements are worth the time, effort and cost. Some things become ingrained habit after long enough. It takes too long to brew for casual usage though it has been useful here and knowing my luck, will be useful again. I don't know anything more than anyone else. It wasn't magic as I know it. But a flash of white light that occurs simultaneously across the globe? Is not what I would call normal or natural. Better to be prepared and disappointed than unprepared and dead.

You can't do all the improvements. Even if we had unlimited funds, we ourselves are a limit. I have habits from the FBI, but usually we were able to leave work at work. If we ever left. Most of the killers didn't go after the cops at home. And when they did, they weren't usually after the scientists. I wouldn't want to live my life on liquid luck. I'd never know what the potion caused and what was life. What was me. What was people around me carin for me. Life's good enough, even better, without it most of the time.

If it's a natural phenomenon, that's a first for me. But everyone's in a tizzy, superhero, magical, everyone. We were unprepared and not dead at this time. That's some luck.

I can try. There were a few times and places where I did not have be a spy but they were few and far between. No one can actually. You may have noted that both the book and movies showed a certain amount of euphoria associated with using Felix Felicis? If you use it too much, the euphoria overwhelms you and you tend to pass out. Or end up sitting in a corner giggling to yourself. Of course, you pass out or find a corner at a very lucky time and place but the point still stands - you might still be lucky but you're uselessly lucky. Or luckily useless.

I have improved the wards on my apartment and the shop. I have started a few extra potions. And I will likely start apparating more. That is all I can do for now until the effects of that flash of light, if any, show themselves.

Never stop trying. Tenet of the human race. Potter looked past euphoric to plain old high in the films. Muggle drugs won't make you lucky, but they compromise your faculties in one way or another. It's hardly much of an accomplishment to be lucky when useless. It's more amazing how Will figures something out with his own process. Even so, you need something tangible. Accomplishments, real ones, are tangible too.

I'm still traveling the old fashioned way, unless you know how to get a floo network up and running.
