I can cross off "getting hit by a car" or perhaps "survive getting hit by a car" from the bucket list, not that it was particularly there before. Thankfully, said car was not driving quickly and hit the brakes before, say, pinning me to a store front. I still spent most of yesterday evening in the closest hospital's ER, along with what felt like half of Manhattan. No one freak out though. The car wasn't driving past fifteen - twenty miles per hour, the doctors said, and I'm fortunate. It's mostly a lot of bruises and being told to take it easy.

Tough guy that I am, I still wouldn't mind taking the magical cheating way out, if you have one.

You don't have to kill her.

Kill, maim, harm, rob. It doesn't do me much good. Her insurance will pay more for any medical assistance I need than I could remove from her.

Oh, but it makes you feel much better.

She didn't mean any harm, so it wouldn't make me feel better.

So she's not aggressive, she's incompetent?

That's polite for someone who ran into you with a carriage.

I saw other people in the ER hit by cars, and many of them were far worse off than me. Those drivers were incompetent. The one that hit me was temporarily phased.

Does your science have an explanation for that light?

My science needs information to explain the light. The work I've been doing doesn't have the equipment to gather that information, but I'm sure scientists around the globe are looking into just that.

What sort of explanations might there be?

Hypothesizing without data? On the 'doubt it but possible' side of things, the tesseract could have brought a star through, much closer to the earth than those besides our sun usually are, realized its mistake, and sent it back. But I suspect it's more likely made by some intelligent species, human or otherwise, and it was meant to do something. There weren't any organized attacks reported or bank robberies or anything of the sort, as a result. So the light itself caused something.
