Who: Howard & Sheldon
What: Roomies!
When: Whenever Howard arrived?
Where: their room, 2209
Warnings: Sheldon being Sheldon? And Howard being Howard.
Change was one of Sheldon's least favorite things in the world. After his initial excitement about finding himself in the middle of a Marvel Universe full of his favorite characters, he had begun to notice the multitude of things that this universe did not have. Obviously, most of his belongings were not here, but many of them also could not be replaced; most distressingly, his favorite Marvel comics were nowhere to be found. Which made logical sense considering that they were in a Marvel universe, but it did not change the fact that he was walking around with the feeling that his comic books were missing. They were an integral part of the structure around which his world orbited, and the fact that the characters were here in real life did not make up for it entirely. Talking to comic book characters, he'd discovered, was on the whole much less satisfying than reading about them in a book, largely because it involved human interaction.
He had, however, been enjoying the fact that he had an apartment all to himself. It held two bedrooms, and he was aware that the other might be filled by another person at some point, but he had nevertheless been enjoying spending time in his fortress of solitude. By the end of his first day, the furniture was arranged how he liked it, and the kitchen stocked with his usual foods. He then spent quite a bit of time (and a large portion of Tony Stark's money, though he budgeted it carefully to ensure that he also got his biological necessities) replacing as much of his clothing and other belongings that he could manage.
By the time he received the email from S.H.I.E.L.D notifying him that he would have a roommate, Sheldon had nearly adjusted, all but his digestive system. The idea of having a roommate immediately upset him, even after he saw who it was; while he appreciated that they had given him a roommate that he was familiar with and who was familiar with his routines, his experience staying with Wolowitz at the North Pole had involved his friends plotting against him and ruining his research. While he held Leonard largely responsible for that, he was sure that his acquaintance was no less involved, even if the initial idea had not been his. (And the fact that it wasn't was probably more to do with his utter lack of intelligence or creativity, rather than a lack of the desire to be cruel.)
He went home immediately after receiving the email and logged onto his computer, drawing up the file that contained the basic roommate agreement and began tailoring it specifically to the dangers of living with Howard Wolowitz. His acquaintance would likely be here soon, and it was necessary that he prepare himself ahead of time so that this did not end in disaster.
