This includes incidents of superpowered or supernatural origin in Tumbleweed since (or preceding) the displaced's arrival (based on reading liberally into history in the Tumbleweed Museum). As well as a summary of recent escalations and the Military's anti-superpower preparations that they know of (incl. power dampening, telepathic neutralization)
This is an old-school X-men training powerpoint about responsible use and training in superpowers. That starts with general advice ("Probably don't") and then goes into a few more specific case studies of incidents where powers awakening or being frivolously used has ended in tragedy. Those who have gone through X-men training more recently will notice that some slides have been altered or removed to de-emphasize "You cannot rely on the Avengers to help you."
Discussing those with visible mutations or non-human physiology, Scott will mention that they have a handful of image transducers to give people the illusion of more human appearances. The X-men will lend these out with priority to more vulnerable displaced. However, they're also a limited quantity so they need to be returned if people go back. Unless someone can replicate the tech.
For people whose powers aren't under control, he'll emphasize the importance of training, and despite himself, offer the X-men's facilities for those who need it with more demonstrative powers and suggest Logan's Gym for physical display. For magic, he'll probably look to Illyana or one of the HP people to say something. But will mention that he's hopeful they can offer some training through the Ellie Phimister School in the future.
An NAACP-style X-men training powerpoint on how to not escalate things with the police. Documenting and filming interactions, Cell phone security. Do not purposefully use your powers to provoke an arrest / confrontation, etc.
Scott will open the floorfor questions, ideas, and discussion. He'd like to discuss intergroup communication and will pass around a sheet for email and cell phone numbers to set up a mass texting chain. He's curious about Plans of actions. Methods of handling similar conflicts back home, and what anyone else knows about the situation or the military or ideas to find out more. Maybe espionage isn't the best for smoothing over relationships but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
He will emphasize that they should not be looking at exacerbating conflict or creating martyrs. They should not be considering violenceat this juncturebut ideally should be looking towards:
- how they can repair relationships to what they were--perhaps through assurances of education and responsible use of powers.
- Protection of our community from outside threats, but also protection of the Tumbleweed community from super-powered threats.
- Civil rights protections through personal or legal means.
- That's his ideas. idk.
- Plea to take this back to your groups.
But keep discussions fact focused. We don't want to cause a panic
