For those who haven't already seen me around the Mansion, I've decided to stay for the foreseeable future.

[Kitty + Scott]
Formal complaints can be submitted in writing directly to Scott, thank you very much.

[Scott]
I'd like you to do some homework for me. I want two lists: one of practical things the school needs and another of things you'd like to do with the school if you had all the time, money, and staff in the world. If we're going to dream, we might as well dream big.

Also, I'm getting the sense we need some team building. Though I'm still in the middle of assessing the situation, so tell me if I'm wrong.

[Mother Rogue]
I'd like to be involved in the school and would very much like to hear your thoughts about how things are going with it. Strengths, weaknesses, and the like. What goals you're setting.

[Hope]
I'm not certain when, but we're going to Sephora and we're going to teach you how to care for your skin before you destroy it.

You asked me for a spreadsheet. I got distracted. I don't know. I don't think Rogue wants to give up headship. So teaching I guess? Administrative? But I can't see you not being part of this.

Teah, Ahsoka's age isn't a typo.

I'm not an idiot on him. I know I'm not a 17 year old orphan he's adopting and we were only as close because he was selectively deleting my memories of difficulties. And he's fallen a long way from the man he was then too. But, he's the closest to family I've got and I never wanted to kill him just mske him suck less and save mutantkind. Also they're the X-men. As much as I hate to say it, his begrudging cooperation is probably all that keeps me where I am.

Daisy and Lincoln weren't bad, but they joined our group back before I came, and they wanted something other than the straight-up X-men. We've only recently been aware of the Inhuman matter back home, so I don't think that was a factor in it, more they were heavily-ex SHIELD.

We can't exactly wish for the Marauders to come through can we? True to form, we seemed pretty divided over the Phoenix, which is basically our most-common enemy.

Nerd. What's there to teach? I've missed it terribly and if I can't live my days in retirement on a beach somewhere, being involved in a school is the next best thing, I suppose.

I had no idea Charles would have that in him. I'm almost proud?

I think you might have some unresolved issues with Charles, love. I wasn't saying he needs to be punished for taking on a relationship with a large age gap. As long as she's not a student, I don't care who he's with. Have you talked to anyone about your feelings about him? And don't sell yourself so short. They keep you around because every group needs their resident stick in the mud.

My presence will undermine some of your message and some of your authority. Partially because of what I did and partially because Kitty has a big mouth. Keep that in mind.

Don't wish for trouble, it'll find us.

That was our spring course listing updated to reflect current numbers. Pink are courses we aren't iffering ourselves. You can see oyr lack of arts education. You'd be good at something business related perhaps.

I like Ahsoka. Less than Moira but at least she's more in touch with her humanity than Lilandra. She meditates in the garden most mornings.

My problems with Charles aren't who he's dating. That sounds so Oedipal.

(Although I guess I did kill him, and am not entirely averse to stabbing my eyes out some days.)

It's just not the sort of thing I think there's really anyone to talk to about or if it's even fair to. The three therapists in town are him, Rachel, and Falcon anyway.

Although, I like to think Logan is our resident stick in the mud.

Kitty will come around. Probably.

Jean's teaching Ethics?

Scott, you obtuse thing, this is me asking if you want or need to talk about Charles before you do something silly like kill him again.

No, Logan's the cowboy, as far as I can tell.

She doesn't have to. And even if she does, her outbursts have done enough damage and will continue to do so.

I'm less concerned with that and more Erik teaching philosophy.

I don't know Em. None of it's really anything new. But the plan's to not kill him again.

I was a cowboy before him. Except he was probably one in the actual 1850s.

Most people here know you. And most of us have done similar or worse for a variety of reasons. It won't change how people see you, and if it has, we just have to prove them wrong.

Or they decided they hated you on principle so fuck them.

Well, we should probably keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't radicalize the children too much. And there's insulting me and then there's insulting me. Tell me she's bad at teaching my favorite subject, at least?

And yet you've been mentioning your guilt to me more than a few times since I've shown. It sounds like you need to talk about it and my social calendar is depressingly empty. Bring me something nice and come tell me about your daddy issues.

And this cowboy thing is speaking to a fantasy I had, before arriving here, no previous awareness of. Tell me there are pictures.

You are awfully I'm not especially concerned about my reputation, darling. I'm just trying to be practical. You've got to keep me in mind when you're thinking about your image here as leader. You think they hate you when they're really just somewhat disappointed. But you may lose some footing over me. That's your decision to make whether or not it's worth it.

You're impossible.

And I do not have "daddy issues."

So that's not a no on those pictures, hm?

You certainly have something. The invitation is open, whether you take it or not.

I guess I shouldn't mention the cattle run I'm going on in July?

You think it would help or just be rehashing the same shit?

Well, I did mention my empty calendar. You're just being sweet giving me things to do.

I suspect you want to talk about it.

Somehow I don't see you as a cowgirl, Em.

Let me talk to Jean first.

I can't watch from the sidelines? And who's to say I won't go native between now and then?

Good luck with that, darling.

There's a pageant for Miss Tumbleweed you could start with.

That wouldn't really be fair to the other girls, would it?
