Didn't think my first day on the job was going to result in talking down a delivery guy a Chilis during lunch time. I guess Grubhub employees really take their job seriously.

I know some of the people who witnessed it already gave their statement, but a few people left before we could get to them. If you were there, I'd love to talk to you for a few minutes.

Also recommendations where to go for dinner considering I had to skip lunch for obvious reasons.

It always amazes me what people encounter on a daily basis. It shouldn’t, but it does.

Actually that was pretty tame compared to things back home

And what sorts of things happen where you’re from?

Where I'm from, there are people who we called Troubled. They had powers or abilities that are often dangerous. Things they don't want. Just recently there was a man whose sweat dried out a person whole.

That seems like a terrible life. Is there no helping them?

It's not fun. I've been helping them as best I can, but we're working on stopping them. Apparently in my future we might

I hope for everyone’s sake that you do. I know what it’s like to want to help people.

Thanks. I hope so too. Not much help I am here, but maybe I can learn something that helps

It can definitely feel very defeating to be here knowing what you’re missing out on back home. In time, I think it gets easier.

How long have you been here?

Nearly three years. I still have my days, but it’s definitely better than when I first showed up. We were on a cruise ship then. D

That sounds like a long time.

I have a friend here named Duke. He's been here four months and I thought that was long.

It is and it isn’t. There are people here who have been here longer than I have. Ronald’s been here longer than me. I wish Harry was still here.

I think I like to just remember to feel lucky enough to have anyone after so long.

I think I'd feel the same way. Now I'm hoping Duke doesn't disappear on me

I spend more time than I should worrying about that People come and go so often. I am not a fan of having no control. After the war, things were finally settled. I was enjoying that and then I came here. Being here, though, does have its advantages.

People who are no longer part of your current timeline can show up. You get time back with people who you never thought you’d see again. I think that’s pretty special.

There's always the flip side to that, too. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about any of it. Honestly, if I could, I would love to figure out this portal business a bit better. The library has been nice, but not nearly what I need for such research.

I plan to investigate it myself. Maybe we can pool our resources

With it being the new year and all, I find it important to set goals. Researching and making progress on the whole portal thing is quite high up on my list.

And helping to save animals.
