That's why most people join gangs, honestly. They give you somewhere to belong to and the members look out for each other. If you aren't getting that anywhere else it can be an attractive choice.

Figure of speech. He's more like an alternate version of me who didn't deal with it very well when my parents died, and never really grew out of it.
