Network Post: Phèdre nó Delaunay
Greetings to you, people of Tumbleweed. I am Phèdre nó Delaunay de Montrève. I've been sequestered for some days now as I learn about this land and how to begin living in it. I feel more ready now to begin making your acquaintance.

I've consulted the maps and history summaries, and it appears my homeland of Terre d'Ange shares its geography and many features with "France," and the greater land of Europa with "Europe." Someday I may determine precisely when things became so different while still sharing somewhat that is considered historic here. For instance, your "Jesus Christ" appears to be Yeshua ben Yosef, whose spilled blood mingled with the Magdalene's tears in the womb of the Earth to beget Elua; Blessed Elua and his Companions have no counterpart that I've yet found. Your "Roman" Empire made conquests where our Tiberians were driven back. This place is on a continent I never knew existed, if it does exist in my world.

I'm already quite fond of the baths. I'm accustomed many buckets of heated water poured into the tub if one wants any warmth. There is much that is different, but the pleasure of a hot bath isn't lost to me.

My deepest thanks to Mesdames Tano and Wells for their continued assistance, especially upon my arrival. Your patience with me has gone far towards alleviating my bewilderment with this world. I will, of course, begin to pay Madame Wells for my accommodations and the use of her wardrobe as soon as I acquire local currency. Perhaps to start with, someone would purchase the coins I carry for their metal? They have no value here as currency, but I have some silver and gold.

It means I am capable of performing surgery and putting a person back together if necessary. I have a lot of practise. Is that a place?

I'm sorry, but as with "surgical," "surgery" is not a term with which I am familiar. Putting a person back together sounds like it could be the work of a chirurgeon.

No, Yeshuites are the followers of Yeshua ben Yosef and the One God. Some are converts, and others are Habiru born to it.

Chirugeon is not one I am familiar with. So it is possible they are the same.

Ah. I see. I am not really a follower of anything. I am simply a doctor. I have found no use for higher beings or God. But if he exists, not believing in him will hardly save my soul.

Chirurgeons set bones, bandage wounds, mix and administer poultices and salves, break fevers, and other healing work.

That's a curious attitude to hold. Perhaps they haven't made themselves known to you the way they have in my world.

Then yes. A bit. But we can also do [...] if something needs more intricate work, I can do that.

I can believe in anything but God. I have met Apollo and Artemis and I am aware of quite a few demigods. I have come up against vampires and witches, know a werewolf. My friend was once possessed, so I suppose that should make me believe, but I seem to be difficult.

Somewhat else like stitching? Or mayhap more dangerous, like amputations or a birthing?

Belief in a god's existence is not the same as worship. When I am abroad, I pay respects to the local gods, but I do not worship them. However, I admit to a bias; I seek the true name of Adonai, the One God, that I might use it to compel one of his angels. I must believe it exists and can be found.

All of that. Though, I have yet to encounter a birth.

No. I have not been to a church since I was quite young. I have not left England, so there is only one God, but alas. What would compelling an angel do?

I would be happy to never encounter one myself.

The story is long, but the short of it is that it would free my dear friend who suffers under the angel's geas.

I admit that I feel the same, but in these times, I am spared because there are doctors that specialise a little more than I do.

Ah. I am pleased to say I have never interacted with any angelic forces. Vampires and witches are more than enough of a pain. I can only imagine the annoyance that comes with the divine.
