I know we're all looking forward to a good old fashioned cookout on Sunday, but in anticipation of waking up on Monday all sad that now you don't have a cookout to look forward to I would like to remind everyone that Wednesday is a holiday. The birthday of our great nation*, and also of our great Steve Rogerses**, and we'll be celebrating both of those Wednesday afternoon at the Barton's place, right by the Avengers Compound. Remember, he's very shy, so we have to make sure that anything embarrassingly over the top is celebrating the country, not the person(s).

Except the cake. There will be cake and someone's going to have to blow out all the candles.


*I'm actually legally obliged to say this, it's a clause in the Captain America job contract

One of them's turning 100, I think it's a fire hazard either way. We're responsible adults*, I'm sure we can handle it.

the cake needs to be like huge. not just for faces to eat, but for candles.

that's adventurous. i might need to brave fire hazards just to see it.

also there's food. i'm very likely going to follow the food.

It might actually be multiple cakes stuck together, we'll have to see.

I think that's an Avenger thing really. Saving the world and getting resurrected all the time burns a lot of calories.

aren't all our events automatically jinx'd. so long as the birthday boys -i mean, america gets to celebrate.
