	I did for a bit but the pigeon didn't really understand what was happening so I had to chase it away so it wouldn't get hurt. He just says his name is Hawlucha. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The only sounds a pokemon can make are those that sound like their type name, in whole or broken down into smaller syllables - for example, my Zoura ... well, he's pretty quiet, but when he does communicate, he makes a howl that sounds like 'zoura', 'zour' or yips like "zo' and 'ra'. That's their type name, but it's perfectly legitimate to give a pokemon a nickname, which helps to differentiate from other pokemon around of the same type. The pokemon quickly understand and respond to the new name. and in some cases, may choose which one out of many you've selected for them.

I apologize for being so verbose - since our trip to Alola, I've done a lot of research, both online here, and through my interactions with pokemon in person.

	I only have like two more days of school! Well I can read minds and he's not a person so it's not as easy but I can kind of mostly get the meaning and he's okay with Hawlucha.
