Dancing has certainly changed since my era. A pity. It would be nice if there were a dance hall in town.

Is the film Casablanca good? The Tumbleweed calendar says that's what's playing on Movie Night, this coming Monday.

Um, it's totally a classic. What era are you from exactly?

The year was 1947, before I was portaled here.

Then you'd recommend it?

Geepers. No Internet for you then, huh?

Sure. It's not my fave, but it's on a bajillion top 100 movie must see lists.

Heaven's no! Telephones were the usual means of communication, and these devices that we carry around with us in town hadn't even been conceived.

Well then, what would you recommend?

Yay! I remembered some history. Kinda.

Thelma & Louise.

Speaking of history, I've been slowly trying to catch up on events I've missed. Have you ever heard of Netflix?

What is the story about?

Yeah, that's a newfangled kinda Tivo. Or was it Teevo? Careful how you answer the question, "Wanna Netflix and chill?"

Kickass gals on a roadtrip that goes horribly wrong! What's not to love?

I'm not familiar with Tivo, but where I live, the television set has Netflix. I've been watching documentaries. There are a lot about World War Two, many things I never even knew. It's so strange how there's no mention of Captain America and the Howling Commandos.

Chill what? Drinks?

By 'kickass', what exactly do you mean?

Yeah, he's kinda fictitious here. He is for me, too. But, total sweetie pie.

Hoo boy... it's like talking to Angel It's like slang, y'know? A euphemism for let's go knock boots.

Badass? Tough? Probably the kinda women guys didn't like to see in their movies in the forties 'cause man strong, woman weak blah blah blah.

Yes, as are most of us. Fictional, that is. I can't vouch for being a 'sweetie pie', as you say.

I see. [...] Actually, I don't. I'm not familiar with knocking boots, either. Might this have something to do with sports?

Yes, that was unfortunately the prevalent attitude at the time, but evidently, you're not familiar with Betty Davis, Lauren Bacall, Rita Hayworth and Katharine Hepburn.

I can vouch for Cap being one though.

Geepers. You have got to make friendlies with urbandictionary.com stat.

No, I know. I stayed awake for some of a film class and own their movies. My mom... anyway, there's them and then there's Thelma & Louise. That's all I'm saying.

Oh yes, I have no doubt in my mind about that.

That's one of those websites, isn't it? I'll go there, right after I comment to you.

[ooc: of course, Edwin hasn't learned how to copy and paste so he's still typing everything out LOL]

Is Thelma and Louise on Netflix? I'll check there, next.

Yep. It's your friendly neighborhood slangtionary. Tread lightly though, it's kinda dirty.

Maybe? I hardly sit at home and watch movies anymore. I have it on VHS though if you wanna borrow it.

What is a VHS?

Sorry. Hope I didn't poison your brain.

A video tape! Sounds like somebody needs a technology update. We're not even using VHS tapes anymore.

Not too terribly. It was unexpected. I'm not accustomed to how things are, now.

Another google search has given me the answer. How fascinating! If you have both the machine and tapes, I would be interested in borrowing them, though I may need assistance setting it up.

I'm getting that, no worries.

They're my mom's stuff. You can come over and watch 'em, but I'd kinda prefer to keep them in the house.

Of course, of course! Forgive me, I didn't mean to impose myself. What day would suit you for me to come by?
