When were the elections again to appoint council members? I must have missed it.

What's your deal?

Thing about politics is if people get excluded that's how you get dictatorships. This is a democracy and everyone who can should be involved be it by running or voting for someone who they think will represent them well.

Um they don't even know we exist? They think we're just normal people who are weird. There was a whole lesson at the high school about it, we had to fake vote for people to see if we decided the same as everyone else. Except the town wasn't split up then like it is now.

We're living in houses that draw power from the grid. And evidently people have run for government here before meaning that the government/military was okay with us becoming part of this world. They might think us odd but we do exist here and we can't just drift through this world. Every time we've world hopped we've come back to Tumbleweed so for better or worse this place is more or less our home now. Don't you think we should make it as such? Which means participating in the election process.

Well duh they know we exist but they don't know we're from other universes except the military and the military's all dead now.

It sounds like people are mad she was in the election.

Okay so why isn't the state or federal government involved in this incident involving their military?

How old are you? Like 10?

I don't know but I think there's people trying to find out. They were talking about looking in the computers and things.

I'm 18 in August! It's probably not my real birthday but Kaine got me a fake passport when we lived in Houston and it said I was born on August 8.

You don't seem to know a lot and yet here you are talking as if you do.

I'm sure some people are. Obviously the people who voted against her. It would be dumb to think everyone has to like someone.

Well you asked about the election and I know about that because we talked about it at school. I don't know about the military base. I don't like that place, it's creepy.

Why would people be mad at her? She's one of us.

I don't think anyone's mad at her, I think they're just confused. Saying it's just her makes it seem like they're attacking her. It doesn't seem like anyone's attacking anyone, they're just confused.

So they're just angry because they don't know what's happening and they don't like it? Okay! I don't know how much of what I got taught is still true because I guess the past changed again when we were gone like the time when we went back to the past and then when we came back the whole town was lots bigger but my teacher said most people only think about the big election for president but the town council is just as important because they vote about things that affect us like how much property taxes should be and whether to put traffic lights in at intersections. And the town council owns things like the public pool so the property taxes is what helps pay for that stuff and I think property taxes affect how much funding the schools get as well but I can't remember. It's all just about deciding the boring things that happen in the town because the state and federal governments are too big and don't know what matters to the people who live here so if they made decisions then they could be really bad. When we got taught it you got to vote for anyone who was running for the whole town and the people with the most votes would all be the council but I guess with the different areas probably people just vote for the ones where they live and the person with the most votes from that area is on the whole big town council so every area in town has someone who cares about them, otherwise you could have the council only cares about what's good for the rich people who own businesses and stuff. But they wouldn't have anything to do with the military either because the military is part of the federal government, which is the one in charge of the whole country, so the town council can't make any rules about the military because it's not part of the town and I guess the military was who was in charge of us so the town council doesn't know anything. Except now Snow White is on the council so she might be able to make sure that they don't set rules that would be bad for us, even though we don't all live where her little council area is.

Sounds like you know a lot about stupid boring grown up town politics.

At least from the first few sentences, I skimmed it.

I have to remember things until the end of the school year in case it's on an exam. But after that I don't have any more high school and I guess I have to get a job and then it probably won't matter if I know about different levels of government.

It always matters to know about your government, or the next thing you know, they're controlling you.
