Do the people in these ports generally speak ~~High~~ English, or do they have their own?

It's not that, Rhy. There are great adventures and stories, yes. But some of them aren't meant for London. Some items aren't. If I had known what the Inheritor was when I first had it, I still wouldn't have brought it to London. It had no place there, at that time.

I don't want to hear only the great ones or the good things. I want to hear all your stories. The good and the bad.

You don't have to tell all of them, or any of them, right now. But I don't want you to be keeping things secret, especially not because they might be too hard to hear. And if you need to be officially pardoned of all past crimes in order to make that happen, I could arrange that, but I'd much rather you just trusted me.

There is a mess of stories. They are not all so readily divided between good and bad, the noble and the selfish. The only decision I regret at sea was not returning to London as soon as I was free of that ship. But there are many you may not like.

We will talk about things. In time. Over time. I don't need a pardon to tell you, but a pardon would probably be good for official purposes at some point.

I grew a hard shell out there. It will take some practice to share them. [...] Berras had a man on the ship, to keep an eye on me. Some things were better kept between the sea and me. It was the only way to achieve my goals. Such as entering the Essen Tasch.
