What a curious ship. And already I have heard tales that more curious things can be hunted down. I would readily like to hear them. And a drink to all who do.

My name is Alucard Emery of Arnes. I have been a pirate, a privateer, a champion of the Element Games (still reigning), to name a few titles. And on foreign waters, I am in need of new friends.

Interesting, that English is the common tongue in one world and the royal one in another. I've no particular talent for languages, but I am also curious to hear more of Arnesian. At least we have one language in common.

Oh, I wouldn't worry about his withering anytime soon. If he shows up again, I'll introduce you, and you can see for yourself.

It is the language of kings, in my corner of the worlds (by which I mean the crowns set in Londons, not of all nations in one world). But whether it is a common tongue on top of that, it depends on the world.

That sounds like fun. But I won't ignore you for him should that happen. You're quite good yourself.

So I'd sound pretty royal, if I showed up in your world? That's rather hilarious.

Oh, I'm nothing particularly exciting. Just a soldier.

You would. But you would also stand out for that. Everyone who speaks High Royal knows who everyone else is, generally. But you could pass yourself off as foreign nobility.

Who speaks two languages and knows a privateer. And, I can hope, plays cards.

That would be even funnier. Me, nobility.

I do indeed play cards.

I've known someone even more unlikely to do just that.

Exciting. I'd like to watch until I can pick up on the rules.

Are you sure? I'm pretty damn unlikely.

You could also teach me a new card game.

You have clearly never met her.

I could, but sharing what the rules are is almost against the rules.

No, but now I'd like to.

Is that so? Sounds like my kind of game.

I imagine she'll wander in here at some point. It's hard to get into trouble across worlds, without her getting into ti.

Perhaps I'll convince Kell to play. You could join in after watching a few hands.

That seems about right, yeah. Hopefully I'll still be here when that happens.

Sure, why not?
