What a curious ship. And already I have heard tales that more curious things can be hunted down. I would readily like to hear them. And a drink to all who do.

My name is Alucard Emery of Arnes. I have been a pirate, a privateer, a champion of the Element Games (still reigning), to name a few titles. And on foreign waters, I am in need of new friends.

They are very fun to play.

They're a magical competition wherein 12 magicians apiece from the three empires face each other in multiple rounds. They get more grueling but more open to creativity as they go on. In the last bout, it's a three person free for all. There's also balls, celebrations, and enough festivities some people don't even come for the games.

Brilliant! Sounds quite a lot like the Triwizard Tournament. I never competed, but my son did. Is your magic more the elemental sort, then?

Most of the magic in our corner of the worlds is elemental, yes. That said, I've seen no shortage of curious and curiouser ways of using that magic.

Ah, a friend of Kell's?

I'm Mal, from Ravka, which apparently has some similarities to Arnes. It is the closest I've heard of since arriving here, at least.

It's too bad our privateer king is no longer here, I bet he'd love you.

I am most curious to explore the similarities and differences between the two. Is this language we're writing... Ravkan in your world?

No, this is English. Ravkan seems more similar to your Arnesian.

It has a couple different names that I knew of already. What are the odds we could spend time with you speaking Ravkan? I have a good ear for languages.

See, that sounds like perhaps he will know already, that you thought of speaking well of him. That is almost the same thing.

There was plenty of research to do about being here. I don't believe the medbay is the best of social mixers to begin with. It's certainly all right.
