Regarding the newcomer, Michael, I think it's rather rude that some people are poking fun of him and making light of his commentary at his expense. It reminds me of how I was treated You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

That being said, I'm looking forward to exploring Middle Earth. First stop, Minas Tirith!

I still can't believe

[...] [...] [...]

Maybe don't go alone? It's just that, I have some experience with traveling to a land that I read about in a beloved book and sometimes the experience and the book don't exactly line up.

You have friends, right?

I am not naive. I don't expect everything to be picture perfect. This port of call is just like the previous one, and I'll be taking the same precautions and be aware of my surroundings, just as I would if I were visiting any new place. I have my wand to protect myself, and if I need to return to the ship, I am able to apparate.

Besides, I'm certain I'm not the only one going to Minas Tirith. Surely there will be others in the city. Where are you headed?

I haven’t really decided. But you do have friends, right?

I wasn’t trying to insult your capabilities. I hope it didn’t come across that way. I just think maybe you should go with someone and experience it together? And if something does happen you can have each other’s backs.

I suppose you're right. Better safe than sorry, and all that. There's my mother, and I could always go with Zelda.

Are you traveling with others?

Your mom? Oof.

I haven’t even decided for certain if I’m leaving the boat yet. The Ents probably don’t know about me? I am kind of curious about magic from other worlds, though.

To be fair, some people may not appreciate someone showing up and then telling them how doomed they are and there's a small chance they're getting into anyplace good after they die.

That's the capital in Gondor, right?

Be that as it may, it doesn't take much to recognize that Michael's experience with humans is limited, and he speaks primarily from what he knows. He's new, not just to this universe, but with social interaction in general. He ought to be encouraged, not blasted. People arriving here speak of their own universes all the time, which is different than others, and nobody makes a fuss over those differences.

Yes, it is. The books describe it as a gleaming white city of stone.

Sure, but people also seem to accept that everyone has different ideas and experiences. If he's as old as he says he is and works with humans after they're dead, there must have been some interaction. Or maybe not. I shouldn't assume anything about him either way. After my brief interaction with him I'm just avoiding it. Religious and moral debate doesn't usually go well.

Yeah, it was really gorgeous in the movies. I can see wanting to visit there.

These are the sorts of questions we ought to be asking of him, to establish a rapport. One positive side, he's eager to learn and is friendly enough. Religion aside, there are certain standards and rules that make up our society that ought to adhered to, which span across all universes. Stealing, for example, is generally frowned upon, whether you're religious or not. The same as murder, etc.

Where are you planning to go first?

I know a Fast and Furious crew that would strongly disagree in some of those areas, and they're still good people.

I'm not sure. I know I'm supposed to be taking part in a Pizza Quest. But also looking for Orlando Bloom and probably taking my dog on some kind of adventure. This cruise is way too long for him.

The way people around here go on about how sad they are that they haven't gotten to maim anyone in two whole weeks I'm not sure how many would agree with you on the murder front.

Rohan is famous for their love of horses. I'm trying to remember what other animals there are that you might find unique. Stay away from the wargs, they're dangerous. And of course, dragons as well.

When you say 'meet', are you able to communicate with animals?

I guess it would be very silly to meet a dragon alone. It would be interesting, though.

Not in the way you would think. Sometimes there are ways to communicate with animals that makes them trust you, but it is not a special power, just a way of being.

The dragons here, like in my world, are probably best left alone, unless you're accompanied by somebody who knows their behavior, such as my brother Charlie.

A sort of sympathetic / empathetic communication? I can see that. How nice. I wonder if you'd be able to bring home a pet?

The architecture alone is said to be amazing! You've seen the movie? The lifestyle is reminiscent of our Wizarding World... Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, Hogwarts.

Admittedly, I'm more familiar with the movie version than the books. Penny introduced them to me. It's quite an adventure story. Not knowing them won't put a damper on your experience, but if you get a chance, I'd say watch them. They're very entertaining.

I was thinking of taking the broom out and just flying around seeing what the different places were. Also, you know, a chance to get up there and look around.

i have to say, this place reminds me a little of hyrule. i keep expecting to see the castle.

me and allison are going to speak to the elves and the rangers for some archery tips. would you like to meet us there?

Does it? Some of the buildings are similar to where I'm from, too.

Remind me the next time we meet to show you something on your tablet keyboard.

Which elves? There are three major groups that I know of. Rivendell, Lothlórien, and the Halls of Thranduil.

it is almost odd how some strange things can be so familiar. but also nice.

i will look forward to it.

i will ask her which one she prefers but if they all know some archery it's likely we'll speak to all of them.

I have a feeling you're going to enjoy yourself here, very much.

I can't remember now if one group of elves was better at archery than the other. Legolas, he was ... from the Halls of Thranduil, I think. His father was met by the dwarfs when they lost their way in Mirkwood. Legolas is reknown as an exceptional archer.

[lol... Percy wants to show her how to use the shift key so she can start capitalizing letters]
