everybody JUMP.

GATEWAY CRUISES

HOW IT ALL HAPPENS

At approximately 12:05pm, all Displaced feel what can only be described as an earthquake. It starts off small, but by 12:08pm, all Displaced have dropped to their knees while natives from Tumbleweed (if you're around any) wonder what kind of drugs you're on. Asking them to get under desks and in door frames gets you some strange looks and "Whyfers?"

At 12:10pm, you pitch forward and instead of hitting the ground or couch or whatever is beneath you, you fall straight into the swirling blue vortex that signified your arrival from your world. You don't stay conscious in the vortex, no matter how hard you try. (Those of you who went to the Prettiest Star will remember this nauseating sensation.)

When you come to, you're sitting in the middle of a theater — stage and all — with the rest of the Displaced. Everyone is placed in seats, scattered around and not in any particular order. You have nothing but your phone with you. Your first instinct will likely be to find your people. This time, though, the theater is enormous and spread out. Families are kept together so parents, your children will be with you.

Almost immediately after you arrive in the Constellation Theater, guides come in. They appear very human, but if you attempt to touch them without their permission, your hand will go completely through them as if they are a ghost. There is a detailed safety lesson for ships. Where the life preservers and lifeboats can be found. On stage, a 3 dimensional hologram shows you where the boats are and how to get there from each floor.

OOC INFORMATION ABOUT THE JUMP

This is where you will put all of your initial reactions, narratives, and what your character is doing during the first jump. We ask that you please refrain from having characters making separate posts asking things like WTF, what happened? Where are we? Where is so-n-so? NATASHA ROMANOFF will be making an initial post that you can all feel free to spam the hell out of.

Remember for more information, click the WORLD document.

Emma opens a mental connection between herself, Quentin, and Ellie once the safety lecture starts, telling them that they need to stay together and on guard. Also, if anything happens to her, they each have a saving account back home, if they ever get there, but that's said very quickly. >_>

Quentin will run an alternate version of the safety lecture. "In case of Sentinels, exits are here, here, and theough their chests."

"We here on seven seas cruises are proud to see to the safety of all oir guests as our first priority. In the event of an emergency, rubbers are provided under your seat cushion. Put it on, pull the tab, and blow. Make sure you have secured your own before seeing to--gross the metaphor doesn't work anymore."

"That's what I heard. Gosh, can we focus for a moment please?"

Quentin will rewind the safety talk mentally and play it though how real that is is anyone's guess.

"See?"

Ellie thinks loudly, "I don't think you're going to get Sentinels on a boat, buddy boy."

"Yeah they're actually pretty cool apart from the whole genocidal thing."

Quentin will pull up schematics. It is usually best not to think too hard on where he got them.

"Aw, your head won't be here. Poor baby."

She's being condescending. And the schematics make her seasickness worse.

Ellie will wince at the sudden mind intrusion but she's been getting used to it. Considering she sleeps not too far from both Emma and Quentin.

She stays quiet and tries not to think too loud. She's a little pissed off they're on a boat, she gets seasick.

That and ... it's too fucking classy around here.

Emma isn't super happy, either. She didn't even get a week at her house :(

But they'll make the best of it. Emma will look for seasickness meds. They will go from there. She wants both Ellie and Q on alert at all times, but there's no point in not enjoying ourselves while here, too.

It's real casual, don't worry. Ellie isn't either but there's a lot of people and she's uncomfortable.
