Another reality again. The temporal & spatial displacement is interesting (absolutely theoretically possible, but different from last time). The tech mostly seems old school, well, not old for 2017, but a few things aren't what I knew 2017 to have. Like the network and some things I saw when I first arrived. Network being still around. And looking good.

Which... I know some people are here? But no Slav, still waiting for Slav. Or someone to go by Sven.

	I mean, if I understood how hyperspace worked, I'd be working on making an X-wing for here. I'm not that good at it. I guess my experience has been that places have a lot of similarities for all their differences. There may be shifts in cultural expectations or whatever, but people need a lot of the same sort of things regardless. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

True. That's been a unifying factor in the universe I'm from. We can be different and get along, help each other. Plus it's great to see how different cultures developed looking at science and the universe. It isn't always the same, the paths they've gone down. Which just makes me rethink a lot of assumptions.

Science is always doable. Whatever you want, whenever. Well, you might need equipment, etc, and school can make that affordable (or accessible). But honestly, it's still doable. Especially thought experiments and figuring out the math.

Hmm. Possibly the space time pocket? Or been NEAR might have been the base located at the safe spot near a supergiant star between two black holes. I didn't get to go down there myself, but it's one of the most interesting physics interactions I've seen in space. How about you?

Wow, that sounds kind of fantastic, honestly.

The Maw is a black hole cluster near Kessel - it's pretty unstable and mostly people can't navigate it, but some take the risk anyway, and Force users have a better chance than most. I've never actually navigated it, but I've been in. The Jedi had a group of kids staying in there for a while to keep them protected.

There's loads of interesting planets though, like Dac is largely water, and Ithor was beautiful.

Black holes have only had the barest understanding scientifically where/when I come from, really. Admittedly their nature to suck in all matter interferes a lot with actually studying them in detail. But they do have such powerful effects on space time around them. The Maw sounds like a fantastic place to study! Or to hide from other people, yes. That seems to be a recurring theme. HIDE NEAR THE REALLY DANGEROUS PHYSICS SHIT. Pretty good defensive shield.

On the interesting but also terrifying note, we visited one planet that was shedding its skin (ie most mass/ground as we'd know it) and UNDERNEATH that it was all acid. Like, get dissolved acid. We helped its inhabitants get to their safe destination. They'll have to wait until their planet grows its new skin to move back down there.

But wow, a water world, or larger than the 70% we have here. Any idea what percentage we're talking? And if it's really light on tectonic activity, that sounds totally feasible. There is SO MUCH out in the universe... multiverse.

Yeah, there were definitely scientists in our galaxy that were interested in it. And of course people liked to hide in there although I don't want to think about how many thought they could make it through it, but not.

Okay, that's insane. I've never heard of a planet doing that before, and talk about inconvenient if that was your planet. But It's good you were there to help them out it sounds like.

I believe people like exploring, going new places, finding new things, expanding our understanding. So I can understand wanting to do something like that. But having watched the best combination of ship/pilot we had at the time navigating those wonky gravitational fields (and having been given the safest path), yeah, I'd rather be curious from a safe distance.

A lot of planets I've seen in the universe do not always follow the most logical conclusions of physics as I understood/stand them. For example, by physics, objects generally end up round (with some y'know wiggle room, not perfect spheres all the time). But while there is a general round base, I've seen a lot of planets with ridges and other shapes that come out wildly from the more general spherical shape. Figuring that out hasn't been my highest priority though.

I know about earth fairly well. I meant your water world. Were there any land masses whatsoever above water? Or was everything below it? It sounds fascinating.

Right, of course. So Mon Calamari, or Dac sometimes is what the locals is basically I don't know, mostly water. There are some reefs and there are some islands, but they're not huge by any means. The above water cities tend to be built around those islands but also sometimes just build out from them on the surface of the water. It depends a bit on the city. There are two main species, and one lives a lot deeper than the others. Admiral Ackbar was a friend of my family and its his home world.

	Engineering is always good. No matter where you go, stuff needs to get put together practically. I've learned some myself, but I guess we all become engineers if enough stuff gets thrown at us? How's school been here for you? That sounds truly incredible. It'd be amazing to visit there. Living underwater would not be terribly different from living in space. 	It isn't the most advanced tech, no, but I'm going to work on doing things with it I never bothered to at home. Or utilizing this level stuff. Oh definitely. I am interested in learning more about the multiverse! Short answer: yes. Probably the most common are the Galra sentinels. Which, ha, hacked one of them to be helpful after it refused. But there's also the security bots that I adopted Rover from. They aren't... all over the place? Mostly in the Galra Empire, but they also have been oppressing the universe for 10,000 years, so I imagine they've worked to keep many technologies out of other people's hands. :/ That's never good for science.
