Directed by Kurt Wagner * Produced by Kitty Pryde

OPEN AUDITIONS

Saturday, November 11th - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
at the Tumbleweed Commity Theater.
Come prepared with a short monologue of your choosing. You will be asked to read scenes from the script of the character(s) you're auditioning for.

The PDF version of the script may be found here
Characters Needed
The script has initially doubled and tripled roles. Depending on the turnout, some of these roles may be split to accommodate more actors. Smaller, non speaking ensemble roles may also be filled for crowd scenes, also depending on interest.

Actor 1 .......... Scrooge

Actor 2 .......... Bob Cratchit, Marley

Actor 3 .......... Nephew [Fred], Christmas yet to come

Actor 4 .......... Gentleman 1, Christmas Present

Actor 5 .......... Gentleman 2, Fezziwig, Mr. Haversham

Actor 6 .......... Mrs. Cratchit

Actor 7 .......... Niece, Christmas Past

Actor 8 .......... Young Scrooge, Joe (20-25 years), Thomas

Actor 9 .......... Peter Cratchit, Boy-in-the-street (15-18 years)

Actor 10 .......... Fan, Martha Cratchit (18-22 years)

Actor 11 .......... Tiny Tim, Boy Scrooge

Actor 12 .......... Belinda, Belle’s Daughter

Actor 13 .......... Dick Wilkins, Belle’s Husband, Balladeer

Actor 14 .......... Woman 1, Fiancee (Belle), Polly

Actor 15 .......... Woman 2, Mrs. Fezziwig, Mrs. Haversham

Also needed: backstage crew, sound crew, lighting crew, props, costumes.

ETA: Seeking musicians to play live music during the performance - a fiddler is ideal, but if more step forward with different instruments, then there can be an ensemble. May be asked to dress in costume and perform their music on stage, in-character.

Performance dates of the show are the 15th, 16th of December.

Cast will be announced within 48 hours of auditions. A rehursal schedule will be provided soon, thereafter. Performers will be given November 22 - 26 off for Thanksgiving, but will be asked to continue to review their lines.

Actors will taught to dance for the Fezziwig Christmas Party scene. An example of the type of dancing that will be done may be seen here.

Students taking Kurt Wagner's drama class are required to participate in some capacity.

Inquires and questions may be made to this post, or to Kurt Wagner, privately. Thank you, and break a leg!

Fantastic! You've had experience on stage before, ja?

I've played Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet so far.

How fun! Little Shop is one of my favorite musicals! And such a demanding role, too. Also, I'm a huge fan of Shakespeare. I've been hearing a lot about that particular production - I wish I'd been around for it.

It was a lot of fun to do. I think we pulled it off pretty well between all of the acting and dancing and singing that had to be done. Plus Audrey II was put together really well. Romeo and Juliet was done in the castle from Beauty and the Beast which made it even more magical.

I bet that was a sight to see, a large, towering castle in this Texas college town.

It was scaled down a bit on the outside, but the inside was just as grand. Kinda like the whole Tardis is bigger on the inside than the outside.
